Elijah's POV

It's already been three days since the birth of my babies. Whoever thought I would use that particular sentence. I'm currently holding Mirenna, snugged in her silk blanket. One moment, her eyes would be wide as a sea, then be sleeping the next moment.

Elena was downstairs playing with the boys along with the rest of the family. Mirenna was a little cranky. I took a seat in the rocking chair that was set up in the temporary nursery.

I gently nudged her little fist and she immediately grabbed ahold of my finger. I have smiled more in these last three days than my whole existence. I could hear footsteps coming my way, but I didn't bother to look up.

The door creaked open, Elena's head popping through. She smiled at me, walking over to the pampers. Suddenly, a flash made me jump. I looked up to see Caroline in the doorway with a camera.

"Sorry. Too cute to pass up. Elena, grab two pampers." Caroline whispered, before leaving the room. Elena laughed, turning towards me.

"Our kids are going to be conceited." She smiled. She kissed Mirenna's head, then left the room. I look after Elena, noticing slight changes. She was kind of hesitant, then she would be a sad.

Then, there was times she would look at me like she needed to tell me something, then changing her mind.

I came downstairs with Mirenna, going straight to the living room. Kol was holding up Elias, imitating the Lion King scene with the baboon. I rolled my eyes, looking down at Mirenna.

"I know. Your uncle is crazy, but we have to love him. Who else is going to love him?"I said, walking over to the group. Caroline immediately swept in and took ahold of Mirenna. Bonnie settled Nikolas in my arms, then going over by Caroline.

I looked down at Nikolas, who was wide awake. He looked up at me and I smiled. I take a seat on the floor next to Elena. She smiled at me, then made a funny face at Nikolas.

"He looks like you, Elijah. That nose is all you." Elena said, laughing as she rubbed his belly.

"Mirenna looks like you. I fear for teenage years." I groaned.

Elena laughed at my expense. "Just imagine Klaus with Hope during those years." Elena said.

Kol snort. "Klaus would rather start a apocalypse than let a boy get in the radius of Hope." Kol commented. He settled Elias in his swing set. I could see he fell asleep.

Kol took a seat next to Bonnie, who was playing with Mirenna. He looked down at her. "No boys allowed! Okay?" Mirenna just looked at him.

"She has Elena stare down to the T." Kol joked. Elena rolled her eyes, but a smile was plastered to her face.

Elena's POV

It has been a week and everything has been going well, but it was time. It was seven at night. I was settling down the babies, but not for the purpose of sleeping.

I closed my eyes when I heard several thumpings from downstairs. Several moments later, I could hear floorboards creaking from the steps. I paid no attention, continuing my task at hand.

Behind, the door swung opened to the nursery. The steps faltered right outside the door. I could sense the hesitation, but he continued until he was next to my side.
