A first date says a lot about how a relationship will go, it's getting to know someone through conversation, most likely over a meal or a cup of coffee, there is also the option of a movie which is a cliche first date. But what do you do if you already know everything about the person you're going on a date with? That's how Michael and Calum felt. They didn't need to ask questions like what their favourite colour was, what bands they were listening to, they already knew all of the answers. They wanted to have some fun on this date so that's what they did. When Michael met up with Calum at the corner, Calum already had an idea in his mind so without saying much he pulled Michael into a certain direction with a determined look on his face.

"Cal where are we going?" Michael asked as he tried to keep up with the raven haired lad.

"Just wait and see, it'll be so much fun." Calum replied without looking back.

After 10 minutes of walking, Michael finally had caught up with Calum and they walked side by side, they had arrived at the place. Both were itching to grab the other's hands but they had to refrain from holding hands when they were out in public in case anyone saw them. Calum brought Michael to paint balling.

"Really?" Michael raises an eyebrow at Calum.

"What? I thought it would be fun, we could be on opposite teams, or be on the same one. C'mon Mikey we already know each other we don't need a cliched first date, so this came to mind."

"Okay, we are playing against each other, I'm gonna paint your body with assortment of colours." Michael smirks and then he is walking through the door and up to the front desk, leaving Calum behind but he is soon beside him once more.

"Hi, we would like to play a game of paint ball." Calum states.

"Sure thing boys, against or playing with each other, if you're playing with you might have to wait for another group to come and join you." The man questions.

"Against." Calum and Michael say in unison.

And with that the man gets them set up in jumpsuits, gives them a paint ball gun each along with assortment of paint balls to fill the guns up with. They were given a run down of the rules before they both were able to go into the field.

"You're going down babe." Michael states before put the shield down on his helmet.

"In your dreams princess." Calum tells him before doing the same thing.

There was an announcement and the game had begun. Both were given 30 seconds to hide before they could attack. The rule was simple just hit your target as much as possible, whoever is covered the most in the 20 minutes that was allotted lost. They were not allowed to aim for heads but everything below was fair game.

So Michael set out in one direction, and Calum in the other. There were several hay bails to hide behind, there were cylinder tunnels they could crawl through, and random walls put up. As much as they wanted to hide, they also wanted to hit the other with the paint so they gave each other some space before trying to find each other.

They spent the next 20 minutes dodging each other and shooting paint off. Michael's chest was covered in purple and blue paint, his back too, but it was nothing compared to Calum who was covered all over in red and green with yellow as well. As much as Calum was covered more, it showed that Calum had the better aim between the two of them. He was able to hit the same spot over and over again, whereas Michael didn't really have an aim strategy he just kind of pointed his gun wherever he could. Both were giggling though, they were having so much fun.

A bell rung signalling that their time was up, Calum and Michael met in the middle of the field to examine one another and decided on calling it a tie. Michael sneakily kissed Calum's cheek, they weren't sure who was around so they had to be discrete. They then walked together back into the building. Laughing and talking about what they had just done. Calum and Michael got cleaned up, thanked the man and then they were leaving once more.

"Okay that was fucking fun. Next time we should ask Luke and Ashton to go though, Luke would be such an easy target!" Michael exclaims excitedly.

"Yeah but this time it was a date." Calum points out.

"Oh I know that, speaking of the date, would you like to go get some ice cream now?" Michael asks and Calum just nods his head in agreement and they begin to head in the direction of an ice cream store.

"Okay but your face was priceless when I first shot you." Calum chuckles as he sits in the ice cream parlour spooning some mint chocolate chip into his mouth.

"That's because you came out of nowhere!" Michael states loudly while he takes a bite out of his cookie dough ice cream.

"It was great!" Calum grins.

"That was my exercise for the week." Michael tells him and it causes the two to burst out into laughter.

They were just enjoying their time together, eating their ice cream, honestly just having the time of their lives. They liked the time they spent with just the two of them. Sometimes it can get a bit crowded with the four of them on the road sometimes, and you just need a break from it all. Although their break was slowly coming to an end. They had only a few days left before they had to leave their families and head back to America to finish the rest of the tour, so Michael and Calum enjoyed the time they did have to be together. Well that was until they got interrupted.

"Oh my god! Calum and Michael!" A girl squealed.

"Hello." Michael smiled at her.

"I can't believe I'm actually meeting you two!" The girl said with a lot of enthusiasm.

"It's nice to meet you, what's your name?" Calum asks.

"M-my name i-is kate." Kate stuttered a bit but both boys were understanding.

"Well Kate, would you like a picture?" She nodded and then she disappeared for a moment before coming back with her mother. The three of them posed for the picture for her mom to take and then both boys gave her a hug before her mom was pulling her away to not disrupt them anymore.

"What are we going to do if we actually date?" Michael whispers to Calum.

"Uhm, we kind of already are." Calum whispers back.

"But like when the fans find out, are they still gonna be that excited to see us?"

"I'm sure it'll be fine Mike." Calum reassures him and Michael only nods, dropping the topic altogether.

The boys finish up with their ice cream and then they are heading out to go back home. It was a great first date. They had so much fun just being themselves, getting covered in paint, and who doesn't love a good scoop of ice cream? Overall the date went pretty well and both boys were wearing equally big smiles on their faces. They hugged when they went their separate ways to go to their individual houses but made sure to text the other after. It was such an exciting date, and when both of them got home they got questioned by their parents about everything. Both were thinking maybe they shouldn't have told their parents if this is how they were going to react after every time Michael and Calum went on a date, but deep down both boys knew they were exceptionally grateful for their parents taking this so well. Now they just had to figure out what they were gonna tell Luke and Ashton, would their reaction be the same as the parents?
