Chapter 7

LAURA'S POV

I woke up in my bed with my mother standing by my side with tears in her eyes...
"L-Laura..." She hugged me.
"Mommy... I'm a monster!" I pushed her away and turned to the other side. I may have passed out but I surely remember everything that happened.
"Laura... Let me tell you a story," she got up and sat beside me on the bed.
"A few years ago... Your father had loved a woman named Aphmau as you know as Aereths mother. Anyways, he loved her so much and he always dreamed of sweeping her off her feet, but when we were on a trip a few things happened to him. Aphmau, your dad, and I approached this island with this CRAZY cat girl!"
I chuckled, "What does this have to do with me though?"
"You'll see," she smiled, "Now, where was I oh yes! We met this CRAZY cat lady who we thought was on our side and a good person, but we were wrong. After letting our guard down for 15 minutes, she was able to knock us out and kidnap us. Laurance and I were locked in the cellar while Aphmau was getting ready to marry a wolf prince by force and Laurance was going to be executed after the wedding for being her real lover. Laurance was invited to the wedding and he watched it, but just as they were about to kiss... He turned into a shadow knight! He slaughtered every wolf at the wedding including the king that forced Aphmau to do this in the first place. Just as he was about to kill the prince too, Aphmau kissed him bringing him back to normal. After that, he kept calling himself a monster for ever letting Aphmau see that side of him. She was the one to make him stable again though. See, those you love can really corrupt you... But they can also be the ones that heal you," my mother got up, kissed my forehead, and left.
I was feeling better knowing that I wasn't the only one to go though this... But I still hated myself for doing it...
