LAURA'S POV
"LAND HO!" Aiden yelled from the desk of the ship.
"Already?" I ran up to the top floor of the boat.
In the distance I saw it, the village was in shambles. I had completely forgotten about what had happened. Everything going on has clouded my brain, and made me forget about the fact that Phoenix Drop was destroyed by the people who invaded and took us away- us... I miss him... I still don't understand why they had done it but they still did not occupy the area. Maybe I could see what was left of it.
"What the... What happened here...?" Aiden looked at the island.
"I had completely forgotten... It's all my fault, I'm sorry I dragged you into coming here." I said to Aiden.
"It's fine, you wanted to save these two girls and with everything going on you probably forgot." He said, "now do you still wanna explore it?"
"Sure, I wanna see whats left of Phoenix Drop and possibly gather resources while I'm at it." I looked towards the island.
We docked the boat and explained to Florence that we were going onto the island to explore and that she was to stay on the boat and look out for anything at sea or any threats. After that, Aiden and I set out for the ruins of Phoenix Drop.
"Should I stay with you?" Aiden grabbed my hand.
"Ill be alright..." I let go.
"Are you sure, we don't know what is here..?" He worried.
"Ill be fine. I promise." I smiled.
"Okay I'll trust you, meet back on the shore at sunset." He made himself clear.
I nodded my head and headed out to what was left of the village. I couldn't believe what I was seeing as I made my way around it. There was no traces of life to be found in here, or so I thought. I continued to walk and casually pick up food, resources, or anything that I believed would be of value. I then stopped at my house to change my outfit and then I saw it. I dropped to my knees when I picked up the picture sitting on the dinning room table of me, my father, and my mother when I was about one year old. A tear fell down my cheek as I put it in my satchel. I then made my way up to my room where to my surprise, was perfectly in tact... I ignored this though and pulled out a white shirt that drooped at the shoulders and a white skirt to match as well as a spare pair of pants and a white tank top with a blue jacket. After I grabbed those things, I was about to exit the home until something caught my eye. A crinkled piece of paper lying in the center of the room. I walked over to it to pick it up, but the wind blew it away as I bent down to grab it. I guess my curiosity had gotten the best of me so I decided to chase after the mysterious sheet. I quickly ran down the stairs and into the backyard of my home where I found the paper laying there on the ground. I picked it up but only to find myself feeling a sharp pain in my leg. The paper fell from my hands as I grabbed my leg and fell to my knees screaming in pain.
"AIDE-" A man silenced me.
"Shh.." He covered my mouth.
The pain in my leg was so extreme that I passed out.
Everything went black.
