Part I; Rage
She was the heat,
forest fires licking her feet,
scorching her ribs which caged a heart
that refused to beat,
yet burned
ablaze.Part II; Numb
He was the cold,
snowstorms numbing his soul,
freezing his ribs which caged a heart
that refused to fall,
yet covered
in haze.Part III; Peace
They were irreconcilable
or so they thought,
but she was the heat
that he sought,
& he was the cold
she hunted for - distraught,
& they found peace in fires that sizzled
with ice that melted into naught;
two souls prying apart their ribs,
flinging away their hearts,
hoping against hope
to be finally caught.
