It was odd. Avrel had blacked out, but he was aware. He felt the passage of time. He was in darkness and had no control of anything. At least until the drugs wore off. And they did eventually wear off. Avrel started to feel again. Slowly, he reclaims his bearings. He hasn't been hurt. It just seems that he was taken. Taken for what? He opens his eyes. There is still sunlight. It's still the same day. He attempts to stretch, only to realize his hands and feet are clamped down. He also notices he's lying down. The metal slat he's clamped to is tilted at 45 degrees, he guesses. There's no one else here, and it's silent, aside from him. He's still in all of his clothes. Well, they took his shoes.
Avrel gasps quickly. "Aleissia," he says to himself. Avrel looks around the room. Once again, he sees nothing. There is just concrete and a metal door. He closes his eyes and starts to let go tears. "God, I failed. Aleissia..." He says to himself.
Four men enter the room through the squeaky cell door. They surround him and wheel him out. His verbal threats did nothing to help his cause and his physical struggle didn't do much better. In the corridors, Avrel looks around for Aleissia, or anyone for that matter. His breathing is heavy with anxiety and fear. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he catches something. Off in his peripherals, he sees color. Avrel looks over quick to see the purple girl. WHY IS SHE HERE?! he thinks. Right there, around a corner, was the person who captured the mechaman. Avrel sees her purple hair and even her eyes this time. Her skin is fair and her face is extremely pretty, but there was someone else. Hiding behind her is another color. One that wasn't talked about in the story. But it is as different from the purple as you could get. Avrel closes his eyes and thinks back to one of Aleissia's rants/lectures. There is a spectrum of color, which, when Aleissia showed it to him, just looked all gray. At at one end was purple. The other end was.... was.... RED! THAT'S RED! Opening his eyes, he looks back hoping to catch one last glimpse of purple before the wall blocked her out.
They end up in a room with a huge pane of glass to another room, a huge mirror, though only about a third of the wall, identical to the other room, and two concrete walls, one with a small window to the outside. The men leave. In the other room, another person is wheeled in. Avrel observes as the four men leave to see Aleissia, strapped in like him. Avrel calls out, "ALEISSIA! I'LL GET YOU OUT OF HERE!" At the same time, Aleissia calls out something but the glass between them is thick, and he can barely make out any words.
A woman walks into Avrel's room with a carrying case. She walks up to Avrel and investigates him. Not just his face, his entire body. She sets the case down and pulls out a pair of hefty scissors. Starting from his collar, she begins cutting his shirt down the middle. Avrel shakes and yells, "What the fuck are you doing?! Leave my shirt alone!" She just forces him against the slab and says directly to his face, "Don't move," and continues cutting his shirt. She said it with feeling, like she really cares about him. Avrel watches, dumfounded and afraid. She pulls aside his now dismantled shirt and explains, "The material from your shirt would get in the way. We need the clearest path we can get, which would just be skin." She sets down the scissors and pulls out a massive syringe. The blood rushes out of Avrel's face as a white hot fear builds up on his cheeks. Avrel begins to protest again, much more violently, this time.
The woman grabs his face and orders, "Be still. Please. If you move, it'll probably kill you. You'll thank me after." Avrel's face is caked with sweat as he watches her point the syringe at his chest. Avrel pleads for his life, "No. No, no stop. No PLEASE!"
In a blink of an eye, she plunges the syringe into his chest. The serum inside is injected directly into his heart. Avrel howls in pain and throws his head back. Aleissia simply watches in defeat. After pulling the needle back out, the woman turns away and walks over to the only table in the room, trying to act like there isn't a thrashing boy in the same room as her, feeling immense pain and fear. She drops the needle and canister into the bag and then replaces the needle and implants a full canister. The woman grabs her bag and hastily exits the room, avoiding eye contact with her experiment.
