I decided to be nice and update one more time before midterms. After that, the soonest update I can promise is Christmas. So...

This is Rosalie's dress, but it won't be red. Bear with me while I describe the coloring later in the chapter.

I looked around in amazement. It was so familiar. The pink cherry blossoms, the warm brown wood, the velvety grass path that the cherry blossoms never touched.

"Are we really..."

"This is the Forest of Guardians. The animals here may seem cute, fluffy, and unusually friendly, but they are Familiars, or a faery's animal companion. If anyone tries to attack the castle, the Familiars who live in the forest will stop them. And since the only way to kill a Familiar is to kill the Master, and none of the Familiars living here have one yet, it makes an invincible guard for the castle."

"What happens to a Familiar when they meet their Master?" I inquired.

"They stay together. It is a bond almost as strong as the Mate bond."

"Why can a Familiar only be killed after its master is dead?"

"Hmmm... How do I explain this..." Pierre thought for a minute. "It is like... they share the same life force, but the Master carries it with them. The Familiar is alive, but the life force cannot be taken from them because they do not have it. Therefore, if the master dies, so does the Familiar. If the
Familiar receives a fatal blow or injury, the won't die because the Master carries their life force for them.

I almost laughed as I asked the next question. "Why'd you tell that squirrel to go back to its Master?"

He smiled softly. "Each different species has a different... power. For example: the squirrel can be in a different place than the Master, and the Master can see through its eyes. It is known as The Spy."

(AN) Before I continue with the Familiar stuff, I wanna know: should Rosalie's familiar be the bunny or a surprise mythological creature? You have one week and there must be a total of three votes or I choose!!

"What about-" I began to ask, but was interrupted by a relieved shout of,"PRINCESS!"

I lifted my head from Pierre's shoulder ( he had come back over to sit by me and I had subconsciously leaned on him) to see a guard. His relieved expression turned to one of fury when he saw who I sat with.

"How dare you touch her, you traitor?!" He shouted.

"Traitor?" I asked.

He looked like he wanted to explain, but before he could, I was yanked to my feet by the young guard.

"Hey!" I shouted, surprised.

He waved a hand in my face. "Snap out of it, Princess!!! He cast a spell on you!!"

"What the heck are you talking about?! Let me go!!"

"Oh, dear. It's worse than I thought, I can't remove it alone..." He muttered to himself.

"There is not spell on me! Now get off!!" I yelled, yanking away.

"He's gotten you so angry..."

"HE'S NOT THE ONE WHO GOT ME RILED UP!! NOW--"

"If I may interrupt so as to calm you down, Rosalie, we can meet here again tomorrow. I will wait, and you can ask me more questions." His voice was strangely calming. I took a deep breath.

"Ok." I said quietly, turning to look at him and smiling.

The guard started laughing, not even bothering to cover it up. "You're never gonna see her again, traitor!! Hear that? Let me repeat: ne-va go-nna see her a-gennnnnnna." He said, drawing out each syllable. "Tomorrow we will do the ceremony to see if she has a mate that's either human or faery, and if she doesn't, her marriage will be arranged with Prince Henri." ( AN pronounce ohn-RHEE) And with that, the guard dragged me away, leaving a very heartbroken Pierre.
