Jason's pov

We land in Disneyland. She squints against the sun. One hand is on my hip, the other hangs loosely. "What are ya thinkin' about hun?" She's staring in space and staying silent.

Miranda's pov

*in her daydream*

"Are you happy?" He asks, holding my hands. I smile and ruffle his hair. "Yes baby boy I am happy." A tear slips from my eye. His smile fades. "Why are you crying if you're happy?" He asks. I bend down to his eye level and pull him into a tight hug. "I am happy. I just miss you baby." He smiles again. "You don't have to miss me, mommy, I'm always gonna be here." He suddenly looks away as if someone calls his name. He kisses my cheek. "Mama you gotta wake up now." He waves and leaves, leaving me standing there in the dress I wore the day he was buried, the wind pulling at it. Sobs racking my body.

*she snaps out of it*

I wake up on a couch. "Wha- where am I?" I whimper, confused, my chest hurting from crying. Jason stares at me worriedly, his hands on my shoulders. "There ya are hun, I've been calling you for ten minutes." He says, his voice trembling. "I-I'm sorry." I whisper. He hugs me. "I'm glad you're okay." He whispers, hugging me tight. I shakily get up off the couch stumbling a little. He grabs my hands to steady me. "Jason, I'm sorry I scared you." "It's okay baby, you zoned out. I do it all the time."

Jason's pov

The girls jump off the couch when I walk out. "Is she okay?" I smile and pat Keely's head and nod. "She's fine." She's just not over Brett's death. I don't think I'd ever be able to get over it if one of my daughters died. How is she still able to function? I'm glad she is. I don't know what I'd do without her. "Well are we ready to hit the parks?" She asks, walking out of the bedroom. I smile and turn around. "That's my girl. Let's go have some fun." I say, kissing her lips. "Hey dad, save it for the bedroom!" Keely calls, laughing hysterically. My face gets really hot. "Keely," "Yes daddy?" She asks sweetly. I smirk. "Shut up." Both girls laugh and we go to the parks. I grab a map and put my sunglasses on. We go on the roller coasters and tower of terror. Kendyl wants to go on the teacups. I look at the map, trying to find it. "Hm." I mumble thinking and looking. "That way? I think." I say unsure. I rub my chin in thought. "Uh honey, turn around." Miranda says, trying not to laugh. I smirk. "It's right behind me ain't it?" She laughs and nods. I turn around, raking my hand through my hair. We go on the teacups and then I take the girls to meet the Disney princesses. Kendyl just about flips over meeting the little mermaid. I take their picture.

*later*

After a long exhausting day in the parks I collapse into the warm bed in my hotel. "Girls asleep?" I ask, opening one eye. She nods and lays beside me. "I am exhausted." She says. "You and me both baby." I kiss her forehead. "Go to sleep." I hear Keely say to Kendyl. "Hm, looks like she decided to wake up." I mumble, getting up. I walk into her room and she's talking. At first I thought she was talking to Keely but she says he. "Honey, who are you talking to?" I ask. "My new friend Brett." She says, smiling. My hands clam up. Brett. Her son. "Just go to sleep darlin'." I say, shaking off the bad feelings. "You do believe me, right dad?" I nod. "Go to bed Brett. Your mama and me are exhausted." Kendyl looks at the foot of her bed and smiles. "He says goodnight." She tells me. I smile and tuck her back into bed. "Well tell Brett he's welcome to visit anytime, except for staying up past his bedtime." They go to sleep and I get back in bed. "I heard your conversation." She says, laying her head on my chest. "I'm sorry baby." I say. "No need to be sorry. My little boy is watching over us." I kiss her head. "Goodnight baby. I love you." "Love you too." She sits up and kisses my lips then lays back against my chest and we fall asleep.
