Guide Me Well

Currently Im in front of my closet and tried to find a decent looking for.. Well um... Grocery shopping with Amanda. Minutes ago I agreed with Amanda since my refrigerator and cabinets are almost empty especially snacks. I scanned my closet one more time and gave up so I slid on a plain red hoodie also black skinny jeans then head down. I let my hair down and put on a black beanie so that my outfit matches the weather.

"Oh my god! Why are you taking so long? You don't have to look so stylish like we're going to the mall" Amanda spat.

Amanda here doesn't go well with the word 'patience'. She's  juvenile sometimes and I didn't really regret having her as my guardian when I am in the worst especially when I always keep things bottled up. She can be a bitch sometimes.

I huffed and rolled my eyes at her behavior. 'Okay okay I'm here.'

I slipped in my favourite sneakers then walked out of the house and locked the door on the way out. I let the cold wind bit onto my skin and sighed. I took out my phone and started to list the things I needed.

"So cass.." She broke the silence. "How's you and jake lately? Are you guys like still flings or.."

I took my gaze away from phone and stared at her in shock. I forgot to spill about us. Me and Jake have been friends for.. I don't know. Years? But somehow I got a teeny tiny feelings towards him and confessed as my feelings got bigger. Thankfully he also had the same feelings so we just stayed as "fling" because that's what he said.

"I... Uhh. W-we.. I f-fo" I stuttered at her question knowing that she won't be too happy if I told her the truth.

"You what? C'mon tell me. Im not a stranger. Duh"

I sighed and smoke came out of my mouth. "I stopped our "fling" relationship." I waited for her to react and looked down to fiddled my fingers.

"You what?!"

"Im sorry I haven't te-"

She pointed at me and said "you better tell once we finish this"

Next thing I know, I was dragged into the grocery store. Quickly she got a trolley and pushed it with her. I went to the chocolate island and look out for my favourite chocolate. Honestly, searching at the chocolate island always got me stays for more than 15 minutes. I could juat grab everything here.

Not minding the others, I quickly grabbed the only one and rushed to Amanda before she burst.

After minutes, I found her and started our grocery shopping. Once our trolley was full we head to the cashier and shared the amounts.

I took 5 plastic bag with me while Amanda took 4. On the way home, none of us would talk. We both just enjoying the quiet moment. We reached my home and Amanda ran upstairs to change while I unpacked the groceries and put them in a specific place.

After I was done, I was about to go upstairs but Amanda stopped me.

"Not so fast. You owe me explaination." She crossed her arms and shot an eyebrow. Oh typical Amanda.

"I know but could you please let me change first?" I whined.

She dismissed me and I ran to my room. I quickly change my hoodie to my black tank top then to my sweatpants and put on my socks. Amanda always ask me why I always use my socks. Its just really comfortable and without them I can't help but to stand on my toes everywhere I stepped onto something.

After Im done, immediately I went down and sat on my big bean-bag. Just after she opened her mouth to speak, I signaled her to wait and got up to take my favourite potato chips. When I got back, Amanda looked at me and rolled her eyes.

"Okay no more escaping. Fucking spill". She spat with her mouth full of potato chips.

I huffed and started. "Okay. This 'fling' thing is not really working for me. I mean can you believe that we've been 'fling' for almost 4 years? Its sickening and blegh. Im pretty sure he has a girlfriend while we're on this 'fling' status. So when I told him that he was fine like no hard feelings, no furrowed eyebrows, no begging and ugh I knew it since last 2 years. I kept on waiting and waiting for him to.. You know. Ask me as his girlfriend. It sucks!" I popped my potato chips as I finished explaing to her.

Amanda stared at me with her mouth hanging and eyes widened. Potato chips were visible on the corner of her lips.

She shook her head " I thought you never took relationships seriously. Im surprised you care about him and keep on waiting. Applause for you."She clapped loudly.

"Well let's just say I am not a pet and I can't stand it so he should never take advantage of me being an 'easy girl' in his eyes." Air quoting it with my index and middle finger.

Amanda sighed and continued munching her potato chips. "Lets just watch some great movies so you can relax okay?" She smiled genuinely. Finally..

I nodded and put a handful of potato chips into my mouth. I just wanted to forget Jake completely so I don't have to think and move on.

Amanda started the movie called 'Fun with Dick & Jane' and just by hearing the name, I burst out laughing. I mean seriously. Dick? Ya gotta be kidding me. So we watched and our laughter filled the room. Half of the movie, my phone started to vibrate and made me jump. I calmed down and see the screen who's calling.

I immediately sat up straight and mouthed 'Jake' to Amanda. Well she also sat up and her face was also in a shock state. I gave her a questioning look and she nodded. I pressed the green button and put it on speaker.

My heart thumped. I mean this is serious shit if your ex calling you right? Or is it just me?

I put away my bag of potato chips and leaned towards the phone.

"Hello?"
