Xephos had searched almost everywhere on his half of the building, until he thought of the one place he hadn't. The roof. He knew it was ridiculous, they'd be pretty stupid to go up there, because then they'd be trapped, but it was the last place to check. He went with it. A few minutes later, he was right under the door that led to the roof. Xephos stood still for a few seconds, and that was when he heard the voices. He couldn't make out what they were saying, but he could identify who they were. It was definitely Trott and Lalna. He had been right. Now was the hard part. Xephos thought for a moment, deciding whether to sneak up or ambush them, then he made his decision, and began creating a plan.

Lalna and Trott began checking the roof for an escape plan. No doubt someone would be onto them by now, and figure out that they were on the roof. Slowly, a figure appeared next to Lalna. He turned quickly, to see Lalnable. "Are you happy now?!" Lalna exclaimed. "You've half killed me, YogLabs is in a panic, and now we are trapped up here! Leave us alone!" Lalnable looked over at Trott, then back at Lalna. "All I can say is, thankyou," Lalnable replied. "You've given me the chance to escape. I'm free now! I would kill you and your friend, but I think I'll leave you alive so everyone else can take care of you..." Then he drifted off into the shadows, before disappearing. Lalna turned back to face Trott, as they looked over the edge of the roof for any escape routes below.

Xephos was too wrapped up in his plan to hear the exchange between Lalna and Lalnable. Honeydew had arrived, and he knew that soon, they would be able to recapture Lalnable, and get rid of him once and for all.

In the end, Lalna and Trott decided it would be safest to go back down the way they'd gone. At least they could find a room inside and hide themselves for a while. They stood for a few more seconds, looking down over the biome that YogLabs was in, before Trott turned to leave. He walked over to a crate near the door first, to check for any materials, when the door was slammed open. Xephos ran through, pointing a gun directly at Lalna. He hadn't noticed Trott yet. Lalna turned, but stood strong, knowing that he wouldn't make it out of there. He had one more chance. "Xephos, you really don't believe me, do you? I am Lalna." He didn't try to persuade him. That wouldn't work now, but he held onto the hope that Xephos would come to his senses. He didn't, instead he lifted the gun he was holding so he could look through the scope.

When Xephos first ran onto the roof, he was sure he could take Lalnable. Now... He wasn't so confident. Lalnable's lab coat was billowing out behind him, and the moonlight reflected onto the red tinges of his coat and goggles. He stood firm, and showed no weakness, and Xephos couldn't even begin to imagine what tricks he had up his sleeve. "Xephos, you really don't believe me, do you? I am Lalna." Lalnable called, and Xephos hesitated for a second. Then he lifted the plasma gun up higher. Lalnable even looked like a true villain, with his pose on the top of the building. Xephos was so focused on Lalnable, that he didn't notice Trott creeping up behind him. He grabbed the gun, and threw it over to Lalnable. Then he pushed him to the side. Xephos fell to the ground, but he wasn't hurt, only stunned at the sudden change of events. Then Trott and Lalnable ran through the door, past Honeydew, and back down the stairs.

Honeydew ran over to Xephos, and knelt down next to him. "Are you hurt?" He asked quietly. He'd seen what had happened from inside the doorway. Xephos shook his head, and slowly stood up, before brushing the dirt of his pants. "I'm good to go." He replied. Then they both walked back inside, shutting the door firmly behind them, just as the sun began to rise above the horizon.

Sorry if this chapter (and possibly the one before) have been a bit confusing with the changing between Lalnable and Lalna. I tried to change it between the characters point of views, if that makes sense as well. Hopefully the next few chapters will be a bit better.
