Ness P.O.V.

After Lucas had that nightmare, I've been unable to sleep. I'm worried that he'll have another one. My eyes feel like lead balls, sinking into my skull. All my senses feel dull, sight blurry, sounds are fizzled, and my mind blank. It's weird how I'm still awake, but every part of my body is trying to sleep. As I lie here, staring at the ceiling, I glance down to the sleeping blonde on my chest, snoring softly. He's so cute when he's asleep, almost like a little puppy. I'd have to remember the puppy part for 'fun' in the future. A few hours went by where I did nothing but admire Lucas's sleeping body. I rubbed my eyes, scratching my face at the same time. Lucas sneezed himself awake, making me laugh. He slowly opened his beautiful blue eyes, yawning as he did so.

"Morning Blondie~" I smirked.

Lucas looked up at me, blushing like crazy.

"G-good morning Ness" he said shyly.

I sat upright, bringing my face closer to Lucas. I kissed him on the lips, making him blush even harder. Lucas pulled away from the kiss, smiling hard.

"A good morning kiss, how romantic." He said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Would you rather I had done this?" I asked as I licked his cheek.

He squealed, rolling off the bed.

"Ness! That's gross! Eweweweweweeeeewwww!" He shrieked, frantically rubbing the cheek I licked.

I rolled onto the floor with him, laughing at how cute he looked.

"W-why are you laughing? Now I've got morning breath spit on my cheek!" He mock-whined.

I rolled onto Lucas, effectively pinning him under my weight. He growled as I grabbed his wrists, glaring daggers at me.

"When I get up, you're so dead." He threatened.

"That's if you can lift me~" I teased.

Lucas smirked, and it wasn't a normal one. It was the kind of smirk you wore when you had something sneaky planned. Before I could even ask what he was plotting, Lucas pointed his fingers at himself, still wearing that evil smirk.

"Offenseα!" He said with a sly smirk.

I could feel his strength increase as the words left his mouth. With one quick movement, Lucas had flipped our positions so that he had me pinned down.

"Looks like the tables have turned~"

"Are you sure?" I asked, throwing him a mischievous smirk

"What are you talking abou-" Was all he could say before I kissed him, catching him off guard.

While Lucas was distracted by the kiss, I flipped him onto his back. I broke the kiss and stared right at his flushed face.

"I win~" I said slyly.

Lucas huffed, rolling his eyes. He sat up, and I held back a laugh when he did. There was a small love mark on his neck from a few days ago on his neck. I must have sucked pretty hard on his neck. Lucas shot me a questioning look, blue eyes staring into my soul.

What are you laughing at? he asked telepathically.

I'll tell you later. for now though, we need to get ready for school. I answered back, shrugging.

loud footsteps could be heard coming up the stairs, startling Lucas.

HIDE. NOW! He screamed in my brain.

I rolled under the bed just as the footsteps reached the door. the stench of alcohol filled the air when the door creaked open, revealing Flint.

"What's with all the noise?!" He yelled at Lucas, who stood in the center of his room, glaring daggers at his dad.

"It was just another nighmare." He said flatly, looking his dad in the eye.

His dad glared at Lucas, swaying back and forth in place.

"You'd better not be lying, otherwise I'll beat you." He threatened, his words slurring as he talked.

A few seconds later, Lucas's dad clumsily exited the room, mumbling about disrespectful kids. I watched from under the bed as Lucas clenched his fists so hard, blood started dripping from his hand.

"Psst! Luke, let's get out of here." I whispered to him, not wanting his dad to come back.

He unclenched his hand, a neutral expression on his face.

"Could you teleport us to school? I don't want to deal with my dad today." He asked, his voice breaking as he spoke.

I rolled from under the bed and wrapped him in a tight hug.

"I'm sorry you have to deal with this." I whispered into his ear.

Lucas hugged me as hard as he could, his nails digging into my back. I ignored the pain, it didn't hurt nearly as much as Lucas was. After a minute, we had stopped hugging, and were now climbing out of the window. I held Lucas bridal style in my arms as I jumped. My feet hit the ground with a loud 'thud' and I nearly fell forward. I looked Lucas in the eye before saying the words to get us away from the house.

"Teleportß!" I yelled, and in a flash, we were gone.

When the light faded, we were standing in the schoolyard, surrounded by numerous students. Lucas blushed when he realised everyone was Staring at us. All at once, everyone started whispering to each other. I already knew that rumors would spread. Although they were true, and he wasn't ashamed to admit it at all, he worried that someone would try to bother Lucas. Lucas was far from weak, but he'd never raise his hand to another human, unless they wore a pigmask suit.

Ness, l-let me down. Lucas's thought rang in my mind.

Reluctantly, I set him down, and we walked towards the cafeteria. This was going to be a long school day
