Valentines day

Ness P.O.V.

It's Valentines day! The one day a year where couples are envied by the singles. Who am I kidding? The singles envy the couples all day, every day. I smile to myself as I pull a heart shaped chocolate from the hidden compartment in the freezer. Lucas was out grocery shopping, while I 'went for a walk'. I told Luke I would be out walking all morning, but I had secretly planned to bake chocolatey sweets for us to eat together. I had some other stuff in mind as well, but that'd have to wait until later. I put icing on the chocolate, smiling as I did so. Once it was finished, I hit it with a blast of PSI-Freeze to make sure it stayed cold until I needed it. I put it in a giant heart container, and set it in the kitchen drawer. I knew Lucas wouldn't check there, it'd be too simole of a hiding place. As I began to put away the icing, Boney and King Jr came charging through the kitchen, tackling me to the floor.

'Lucas is on his way!' Boney barked

'You'd better hurry, or he'll find out you have a surprise for him' King barked excitedly.

I lifted the two pups off of me, running to the back of our house. With both pups in my arms, I leapt from the window.

"Teleportß!" I called out, and in a flash, we were gone.

We materialized in front of the grocery store, and I fell on my butt. I let the pups run around for a bit before we decided to head home.

"Alright pups, it's time for us to return from our 'walk'." I said after twenty minutes of them terrorizing the civilians.

On our walk home, everyone in the city seemed to stop me, asking about random things. Some asked what Lucas and I had planned for Valentines day, while others rambled on about the weather and economy.

Lucas P.O.V.

I had just opened the front door when the smell of sweets hit my nose. Ness was up to something, I just knew it. Walking in the kitchen, my mouth went agape: There were paw prints all over the floor and counter, all in icing. I guess the pups got into the cabinets again. That would explain the sweet smell. I set my groceries onto the counter, and started cleaning up the pup's mess. After a brief cleaning session, I decided to put my plan in motion. I pulled out all the decorations and sweets from my bag, ready to transform the house. I invited all of our friends over for a Valentines day party, and it was going to be even better than last year's party.

Ness P.O.V.

As we rounded the corner to our home, I saw a few cars parked in our driveway. 'Lucas must be throwing another party this year' I thought to myself. Knowing Lucas, this party would be ten times better than last year. I ran alongside the pups up the driveway, laughing as they tried to jump over one another. As I opened the front door, my eyes were assaulted by extremely bright pinks and reds. I yelped and covered my eyes, while the pups ran in, completely unaffected by the bright lights. A pair of warm arms wrapped around me, and I knew exactly who's arms they were.

"Hey babe~" Lucas cooed in my ear, his warm breath tickling my skin.

"Nice to see you again." I said through squinted eyes, kissing him on the cheek.

"You won't be able to see much of anything if you don't put these on." He said as he slid a pair of shades over my eyes.

My sight returned to me, and I was absolutely stunned by what I saw. Lucas had transformed the house into something amazing. There were hearts everywhere, some even glowed. All of our friends were scattered throughout the house, laughing and drinking punch. Kumatora and Duster were laughing at Loyd and Jeff dancing together. Teddy and Poo were arm wrestling in the living room, trying to one up the other.

"Shall we join everyone?" Lucas asked, already leading me into the living room full of friends.

We sang so loud, that nothing could bother us. And laughed so hard, we forgot the things that used to. Everyone wore a smile on their face, enjoying each others presence. A few hours passed by, and most everyone had passed out during the party. Lucas and I were the last two awake, and I had excused myself to the kitchen so I could retrieve my surprise. I sit next to my sleepy boyfriend, a dumb grin on my face.

"I made this for you." I said, stuffing the chocolates into his hands.

"T-thank you." He stammered, smiling wide.

I kissed him on his lips, leaning against his small frame. Somewhere during the kiss, lucas pulled something out of his back pocket.

"This is for you." He panted, placing a ringbox into my hands.

I opened the box, and tears of happiness started to fall from my eyes. It was a beautiful gold ring, both of our names engraved onto it.

"You don't know how much I love you." I said as I hugged him tightly.

"Say You'll never let me go." He whispered in my ear before he kissed me.
