Three
My other classes were fairly easy. Of course some were easier and others harder.
Mod 2, depending on the day, I either had a study hall or choir. Since it was first semester we were singing Christmas songs too early, but I dealt. Choir was also taught by our marching band director, Mr. Arnold. Tuesdays after school we would have a practice. Choir took place mods 2, 3, and 4. So all the people from the choir met after school and we sung all together.
Mod 3 I had English with Mr. Whitehead. He was a chill dude. I loved having him as a teacher. He always seemed to brighten up the class. He was out of school for a while and our class did not know why until we heard he had cancer. When he came back the day of our final, he was not in good condition at all. Unfortunately he passed away after Summer of 2015 ended due to skin cancer.
Mod 4 I had Geometry with Mrs. Youwakim. She was an amazing teacher, very helpful, and kind. Sometimes during her class I would edit photos for my wolves on a wonderful wolf roleplay site called Blossom Forest. Mrs. Youwakin always took an interest in my photos, and that made me rather happy that someone appreciated all the work I put into it.
Mod 5 I had lunch. This lunch I had with Shawn, Stephen, Kassy, later on Jake, and some of Kassy's friends. Lunch was, well, chaotic. Jake was just an asshole to me and Shawn. He often said I looked like a dude. Shawn's supposedly his "friend" but I decided to not say anything. Kassy and Stephen didn't like Jake either, and soon Stephen left the table, half because of Jake, and half because of another girl, "Taco" as we called her. More stories from lunch will be mentioned later on.
Mod 6/7 I had World Cultures with Mr. Anthony. Now, I liked this class because I liked the histories of other places, and their creativity in their architecture, art, and religion, compared to ours. Mr. Anthony was also a very nice man, but he out of many people mistaked me for being another "Deitrich" child. Evan's last name is spelled Deitrich, while mine is spelled with the first i and e switched. But I could see how as their family has very good manners and so do I.
Mod 8/9 I had Gym for the first semester. For two weeks we had gym, and then one week of health. This process continued until the semester was over. Gym was what you would normally expect, so nothing special here.
Mod 10 I had Spanish. I hated going to this class the majority of the year because several reasons. One, I had a lot of classmates that were rude. Two, I had to sit next to Jake Rossnagle. But I also loved the class, because I always sassed the kid out, and the teacher, also Mrs. DeBoer, liked me as a student. She was an awesome teacher.
Mod 11 I had trigonometry for the first semester while the second I had advanced algebra (which many people liked to express as Algebra III). The first semester we had Mrs. Susko, who eventually became the vice principal and we got a new math teacher, Mr. Inman. Now, he was young and therefore not the best teacher, but I got along with him.
So I had quite the stressful life, it also being my first year of marching band.
"So Rose, you want to go to the cabin in the woods with Xavier?"
I was at guard practice that night, and sighed. This happed way too often.
"No, I don't."
Cabin in the woods became an analogy for sex. Xavier's family actually owned a cabin and would go up there every so often. I wanted to join them one time (not while dating him) because I just loved camping so much. I camped a lot with Gileon, and I enjoyed it.
This was a couple nights before I asked Xavier out.
He and I walked to the bus stop every morning together. So randomly, I had gotten the nerve to do the asking out. I grabbed a piece of cheese from our house and brought it with me. Once we were walking up the alley to go to the bus stop, I had said...
"I know this is cheesy, but will you go out with me?"
I regret this so much, even though he said yes. Because, eventually, I hurt the boy, pulling a move that was once pulled on me.
---------
We started competing in competitions near the end of September. The first competition is where I didn't walk down with the rest of the band, because I wanted funnel cake. Fortunately, I got complimented on my spike from someone I didn't even know when we were marching off the field. I loved when we got crowd approval, but when I messed up in a move or something I wasn't the happiest either, due to my perfectionism.
Perfectionism is a branch of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, otherwise known as OCD. Perfectionism is all in the name. With me, it kicks in when mentioning my grades, what I do when performing, and my words. I'm not affected by "Oh this color block needs to be with another same color block." Perfectionism kicked in a lot, but I slowly learned to deal.
After that first comp., the guard was adjusted for the first time out of many future times.
"The judges don't like the spacing we have." Said Mr. Arnold.
"Rose, move here." He pointed to my new spot.
"Amber, move here."
"Maggie, move here."
"Hope, move here."
"Sarah, move...." He paused. "Sarah's not here again, huh?"
"No, she's not." We all said in unison, but with some alteration.
I was alone on my own side because Sarah wasn't ever at practice. A few weeks later, she got a concussion from field hockey.
We rejoiced. We didn't like Sarah at all. She was a bitch.
