"Not tonight." Dan added quickly.

"Yeah not tonight." I echoed. I sat up in my chair and then looked at him.

"Why did you help me?"

"Well..." He looked down and stirred his drink again. "He grabbed you really hard and when you turned I saw a bit of a red hand print on your face. "I figured that he had hit you or was going to." He looked away awkwardly. "And I didn't want that to happen."

I smiled at him. "Thank you for that."

He cleared his throat. "No problem."

"So I guess I'm staying in a hotel tonight." I said and let out a shaky laugh. "Can I borrow some money?" I asked timidly. " I don't have any money on me and I know its a lot to ask but-"

"-It's fine" he interrupted "You can stay in my flat." I looked at him awkwardly.

"No, no I didn't mean it that way." Dan said and turned red.

I looked up at him and smiled for the first time that night. "That would be great."

We walked back out of the cafe and I suddenly panicked again. "What if he sees me!?" He looked at me for a second before wrapping his coat around my back and putting my face in the crook of his arm. It was a little awkward but I was relieved to not be seen.

"Jess." He said suddenly.

"What?" I asked looking up at him. It was quite comfortable in the crook of his arm.

"I have a flatmate Phil... Is it okay if he's there?"

I nodded slowly. "You can tell him." I took a deep breath. "I mean it won't matter really will it?"

Dan nodded "You can trust him. I need to call him to tell him." It was so dark outside that Dan just gave up and used Siri.

"Siri call Phil." and a male Siri replied "Calling Phil Lester."

I looked up at Dan confused. "Why is Siri's voice a guy?"

Dan smiled at me. "Because it sounds too sexual as a girl."

I started laughing and Dan laughed with me. Phil picked up and I quieted down as he answered.

"Hey Dan. What's up?''

"Hey I found this girl and she needs a place to stay."

Phil sighed. I didn't blame him and I would do the same thing if I was in his position.

"Does this mean I can get a hamster?"

"No."

I looked back at the restaurant while Dan explained the situation to Phil. Phil agreed with almost no resistance.
