We pulled up to the grounds in Auburn and I thought the nervousness was going to get me alive.
The nerves of being on a tour with all my friends, meeting and making new ones and then there was Lindsey.
I wanted to jump with joy and throw up all at the same time.
"SAWYER!!"
"huh?"
His voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"I've been trying to get your attention for the last 10 minutes."
"Sorry Gee just thinking what's up?"
"I just wanted to know if you wanted to take a walk around the place before they start the whole setting everything up."
"Hmm sure let me just my hat."
"you're so weird."
"What? I don't want to look like a raisin by the end of this tour! It is summer you know."
He took my arm and linked it with his and we started walking around the grounds seeing the commotion of buses and trailer and trucks pulling up and parking.
"So you ready?"
"For what blue?"
"Getting reacquainted with her?"
"Linds? Yeah sort of. I am afraid of looking like a dork."
"It's unavoidable Gee, you are in fact a giant dork. Its adorable."
"Adorable huh?"
"Quite so ha ha."
"You know talking with your mom helped?"
"Really? How so?"
"She just helped me realize that maybe the chance to have something with her is worth the risk. If it happens it was meant to be and if its doesn't there will be someone out there that will love me for me."
"Wait."
"What blue?"
"You love her?"
The nervous feeling was turning into definite sadness.
"No Sawyer I am just-I don't know maybe she is the one."
Like a knife to the gut.
"Ma-"
Then he squeezed my arm and froze.
"Gee what is it?"
"It's I—"
"What is up with you I've never seen you-"
he squeezed my arm harder
"Geez! Why are you-"
And then he released my arm and distanced himself from me.
"Gerard why?-"
I looked in the direction he was and there she was walking over to us.
It almost felt like this was a dream and this wasn't real, this wasn't how I wanted to or if I ever wanted to meet her.
The closer she got the more I saw why he was batshit crazy crushing on her.
She was statuesque, almost as pale as me, great style and a great smile.
He was a little beside himself.
"Gerard?"
"Huh?"
"Breathe."
He tried to get himself together but didn't seem capable of doing so.
"Dammit Gerard get your shit together she is almost here!"
"I got this. I totally got this!"
She finally reached us and flashed a big smile.
"Hello again Gerard."
"Hi Lindsey. Long time huh?"
"Feels like it."
I think I seemed invisible so I just snuck away without them noticing.
But I caught a bit of their interaction before I got out earshot.
"Who was that?"
"Who?"
"The girl that was just with you."
"Oh her that's just Sawyer."
"Girlfriend?"
Her voice seemed a little intrigued.
"No just a friend. So how have you been?"

It began to ring over and over in my head

He is not yours stop acting like this.

I tried to find Frank but he didn't seem to be in the bus.
I was breaking down and I just needed my best friend because this is the beginning of the end of my heart.
There was a knock on the bus door and it was a familiar face one I didn't expect to find here.
"Hey Ville."
"Hello my little bird whats wrong?"
"You know the usual. Foolishness. Are you looking for someone?"
"I was looking for Gerard he wanted to show me some sketches on something but that can wait my dear one tell me what's wrong."
"I don't want to talk about it anymore. I am so tired Ville."
"Is it Gerard?"
"How?"
"Everyone can see, everyone but him it seems. We all know."
"Everyone?!"
"No just those of us who know you all well enough to see. Oh my dear come here. Just let them flow you will feel better."
"I have to cut ties Ville no matter how much they hurt. I am at my end with this and its time."
"You are going to make it little bird. You have us."
"I know and thank you."
"Anytime."
