Part 16

Mia

"I knew you missed me." He coos licking my ear. Ewwwww! Like hell I missed you.
"What do you want?" I try to move out of his arms but he snatched me back to him. Calm down, he isn't going to try anything until you are alone. There's still time to get away.
"You." He grabs my elbow and pulls me out the elevator, through the lobby, to the parking garage finally stopping at his car. Just keep breathing. Fear is your friend, it keeps you alive.
"Get in!" William yells as he opens the car door. Okay deep breath, fear is your friend, it keeps you alive, now use it.
"No." I step away but he backhands me across my face making me fall. My face throbs and my vision in my left eye blurs. He points his gun at me. Fear is your friend.
"So that's what you want? To beat on me?" I yell at him. He laughs holding the gun closer to me.
I kick his wrist making his hand hit a car and the gun fires into a car window as it falls from his hand. "You are out of your mind if you think I'm going anywhere with you!" I sweep kick the gun behind me under an SUV and roll away from him hiding between cars trying to reach the exit.
"Well, well, well. Looks like my pet needs to be reminded not to bear her teeth at her master." He says loudly as I continue to hide while staying low like I was taught. Stay low to the ground but on my feet. (Think duck walk) He rushes me from behind and slams me into a car. I manage to flip him to the ground but I got scared when I heard his shoulder snap and ran.
"You bloody cunt! When I catch you, I'm going to kill you!"
Running as fast as I can, I can see it, the exit. He chases me down reaching for me but I quickly turn, grab him and roll backwards flipping him over. I roll on top of him, delivering strike to his nose and chest the roll to stand so I can kick him hard between his legs and in his solar plexus . He groaning and swearing rolling around the ground but I've already reached the exit. "Go on run, bitch! I will take away everything and everyone you care for until you come crawling back to me."
I run as fast as I can back to the lobby screaming for someone to call the police. The clerk screams seeing blood running down the side of my face.
The manager takes me to her office and calls the paramedics.
I hiss as they clean the open wound, a cut above my eye, probably inflicted by his ring. After a quick assessment, I realized I can't hide it but I put on a hat anyway.
A forever later the police are searching the parking garage but they only find William's gun. After reviewing the footage they discover he got up and drove away. Unbelievable! I'm so livid he got away I can't think straight. This is why you were trained in Tai Chi and Aikido instead of Krav Maga or some sort of street fighting. You need to calmly think.
At least they were able to get his car information and a good picture of him. And after giving my statement and explaining everything about our past and William's recent actions the officer asks me if I want to press charges. Take away everyone I care about. When I hesitate to answer he offers me a protection order. I agree to all of it but that's not why I hesitated. I felt a phone vibrate in my pocket, when I know mine is turned off. I answer the phone.
"Your sister has been poisoned. William has the antidote. Return to him or she will be dead by day's end." A female said then hung up the phone. He wouldn't poison a pregnant woman, who does that?

Laurent

I just finish packing when someone starts beating on the door. I try to ignore it but they are persistent.
"What?" I yell.
"Laurent?" The voice answers.
I yank the door open seeing a female with a 'BOSS' hat on and her head down squeezing a phone into her hand. "Yeah?" She raises her head to look at me. Her eyes are filled with fire. Her voice is soft but hostile.
"Where's my sister?" She asks looking around.
"Breakfast fast with Larry. Why did you leave with William?"
She scowls at me, "I asked you to be careful. I told you he wanted to harm you. Why didn't you listen?" I'm angry with her but at the same time I'm so happy she's ok and she come back to me. I pull her into a hug her but she pushes my chest hard.
I stumble back hold my abs. "Can no breathe." I croak falling to my knees but she just wipes her face and stands over me. "Don't touch me! You don't listen!"
"MIA?! What did you do?" Mai screams from the open door. Larry rushes to me trying to find out what's wrong. I stare at Larry with tears in my eyes. I hear Mia say, "Come now."
"Larry sit him up." Mai says frowning at her sister.
"His lungs are empty, he'll be fine." Mia scoffs.
Larry barely get me up when Mai starts checking my chest and back then sighs as I finally stop gasping for air. Mai turns to her sister and looks into her sister's eyes. "Congratulations on graduating, care to explain why tried to knock out Lau?"
"No, care to explain why none of your security is with you or even in this hotel?" Mia growls.
"Uh, well I..." Mai looks back at us.
"You ditched them! You stupid bih! The hell were you thinking?" Mia's voice roars through the room.
The next thing I hear is a lot of rapid fire Spanish from both of them. Mai's face showed anger, confusion, then shock.
