Q1. What do your friends say about your writing habit?

A. I have been writing for longer than I can remember, and in the very beginning I was very shy and secretive about my writing. I didn't even like my family to know I was writing or what I was writing about. At first it was because I felt silly for coming up with stories about princesses and magic. Then it was because I felt like my writing was inadequate. As I grew I slowly became more confident in myself and my interest. I stopped caring whether or not other people approved. I wrote/write because I enjoy it. I don't need anyone else's approval. I started to meet people who shared my love for all things fantasy and medieval which made it easier for me to share my secret about writing with them. To my surprise they were completely supportive and to this day are incredibly encouraging. I do not write a single piece now without sharing it with them. I know that from them I will receive honest and meaningful feedback. It is because of them I feel I have grown as a writer. So while I am sure I may seem a little obsessed with writing at times my friends have always stood beside me and been such a pillar of love and acceptance over the years.

Q2. Why do you write?

A. I write for the joy of storytelling. I believe that everyone has a story to tell (or several stories), and while some people tell them through music, acting, or painting I tell mine through writing. I also really believe that stories are what connect us as humans. I always find it so interesting to see how one story can be perceived so differently by different people. We all interpret stories differently and connect with them on different levels. This makes it so much fun for me as the writer to see what people think of my stories and how it came across to them. Getting feedback on a story (good or bad) is probably the most exciting thing for me. It is less about the technical writing and more about the story and emotions being shared.

Q3. Where do you get your inspiration?

A. I find inspiration all around me. I always tell people I am an 8 year old trapped in a 20 something year old's body. I am not afraid to pretend, play, and imagine when I sit down to write. In fact I would encourage any writer/ storyteller to do the same. So I can gain inspiration from anything around me. I do also use music as a constant source of inspiration. Matching the melodies and lyrics to the tone and voice of the story.

Q4. What's the hardest thing about writing for you?

A. Not being able to put my ideas and thoughts into words, or rather the right words. For me the hardest part about writing is having an idea that I am not sure how to express and no matter how many times I try to write that one scene it still isn't coming across the way I intended it. The hardest part is when you I have a clear picture in my mind of the story I want to tell, but I just can't seem to make my writing abilities match the story I am trying to tell.

Q5. Are you hoping to become a full-time writer and why?

A. Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. Now I will graduate in May with my BS in Special Education and with any luck I will be teaching in my own classroom by August. I love teaching and couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life, but I also have this passion for writing that has always been in the background. When people would ask me if I would ever consider doing it professionally I always said that I don't want to turn a fun hobby into a stressful job. However in recent years I have considered what my life might be like if I did become a full-time writer. I came to the conclusion that I if I ever wrote something great enough to be published then I would pursue it.

Who says I can't be a teacher and a writer?

Bulletin: Ah so many! I am constantly starting new projects because I seem to always have new ideas floating through my head. I am currently working on the sequel to my Pirate Heart series, Madness and I have a third book planned once that is done. I also have two other fiction stories called Out The Window about a girl who is very ill and must remain in her room everyday, but that doesn't stop her from dreaming about the wondrous world just outside her window. The other book is Final Shot. I have been working on this piece for several years now and have dozens of drafts for it. I would like to share it here on Wattpad so I can get some feedback from all of the fantastic people on this site.

Book and Author recommendations:

1. The first book I recommend is Camelot's Lost Daughter - by bookslove94.

2. Second would be, High Witch - by Mona Hanna.

3. The third is The Dreamer's Curse - by Relievo.

4. Fourth would be Love of Pan - by bookslove9

4. Lastly, The Dark Wolf's Cry - by MoonlightSanity.
