I replayed the event so many times I could barely sleep that night as I stayed at my parents or one more night. Running into Cody Simpson was crazy, and even crazier was the fact that I was dreaming about a 16 year old guy while I was 18! It was unbelievable but he was a celebrity so that gave me a little peace knowing people older than me felt this way.
The next morning I woke up exhausted and really not wanting to go into work but Maddie wouldn’t let me sleep and my dad would kill me if I was late for work.
Addy was giddy when I walked in and she couldn’t seem to keep the smile off her face. I clocked in and threw on my apron before making my way towards her.
“What’s with you?” I asked starting to get freaked out by her large grin.
“I still can’t freaking believe that actually happened yesterday.” She looked like she was about to jump up and down and have a freak attack.
“Breathe Ad, breathe.” I chuckled, cleaning the counter.
“Dude Cody freaking Simpson was here and I served him a hot chocolate!” She squeaked I looked around and noticed Danny was no where in sight.
“Dude where’s Danny? He should be here right now or else Connie’s gonna throw a fit.” That was no lie, when Connie throws a fit it gets ugly.
“Out back.” She said and I quickly ran to the back door and sure enough Danny was outside having a smoke.
“Hey we need you in here.” I said watching him put his cigarette
“Is she under control?”
“Yeah I calmed her down.” He let out a sigh of relief and I laughed.
“Good she hasn’t shut up all day.” He said as he followed me back inside just in time for Connie to start her rounds.
It was yet another slow ass day at Starbucks. At one time that place was completely empty. Danny took advantage of it and wiped down the sticky tables before Connie could yell at us. Meanwhile I was board out of my freaking mind and Addy was practically falling asleep on the counter.
Suddenly the bell on the door went off making our group spring to life.
He walked in… and he wasn’t alone. Both men were dressed nicely in casual clothing that they made look amazing.
“Ad, Ad!” I shook her awake, only to have her forget how to breathe. “Ad, Addy!” I said but she was frozen in shock.
They were at the counter now and I had to practically force my voice out. “Hi welcome to Starbucks. What can I get for you?” I stuttered making the two men smirk on my behalf.
“Six coffees and a hot chocolate please.” The guy I knew as Jake Thrupp ordered. Cody again just smirked at me, knowing what effect he had on me and my friend no matter how hard I tried to hide it.
“$13.95.” I took the money from him and then turned around to fix their drinks. “Ad, Addy! Help me out here.” I whispered but she didn’t move; she was definitely in a full body paralysis.
“Danny would you mind?” I asked as I struggled to make everything work for me all at once.
He tossed the rag aside and came to help me out with their order. We filled every cup as Addy stared mindlessly at our two customers who seemed to be getting freaked out from her staring.
“Here you go.” I handed them their drinks, taking their attention away from the frozen Addy. Cody smiled warmly at me before taking off, Jake trailing closely behind him. “EARTH TO ADDY!” I waved my hand in front of her face, and she finally snapped out of it.
“What just happened?” She asked getting very flustered as she thought back to how she had acted.
“Cody and Jake came in and turned you into a freaking zombie that is what happened.” I chirped before getting a laugh from her embarrassment.
“Oh god I hope they didn’t think I’m a freak.” Danny joined me in laughing at her geekyness. “Shut up! Besides didn’t I see a little smile action going on between you and Cody?!”
I blushed tomato red and looked away bashfully.”I’ll take that as a yes.” Addy giggled before picking up Danny’s rag and getting to work. “Just remember, hes only 16!”
“Please, Addy, he is famous!” I said only to be cut off as the bell on the door chimed again.
Addy gasped, having a small panic attack before she said. “Christ here he comes again.”
“What?” I snapped. I tossed the rag I was using to wipe down the back counter aside and turned around.
Sure enough Cody had approached the counter. Only one thing ran through my mind. Shit oh shit oh shit oh shit.
“Did you forget something?” I asked feeling my hands start to shake out of nervousness and my stomach started to twist.
“Yes as a matter of fact, I forgot to ask your name.” He said smirking at me and my stomach turned. Oh holy shit was this really happening?
“I’m Tori” I said pointing to the name tag pinned to my shirt and he blushed.
“Oh god now I feel like an idiot.” He said running his hand through his bed hair. “Um I’m Cody.”
“I know.” I giggled. Gosh he was so cute when he was shy. Actually he was so cute period. He blushed once again as he slipped out his shy smile.
“Nice to meet you, Tori” He said, he turned to Addy. “Um my friend wanted to know your name but he’s to much of a coward to ask.”
“A… A…A…” She started but she just couldn’t get it out making Cody laugh.
“This is Addy, you’ll have to excuse her she’s a huge fan,and she gets star struck easily.” I said just in time for Addy to throw me a ‘what the hell?’ look. “It’s true.” I told her making her pout.
Cody then took a napkin from the metal holder and a pen from the cup, and wrote down random numbers. “Call me.” he said as he handed the napkin to me. He then grabbed a second napkin before writing down another set of numbers and handing that napkin to Addy. “Jake would love it if you called him.” oh shit somebody pinch me.
I got a couple of napkins out of their holder before plucking the pen from his hand. On the first I wrote my number before I handed it to him. “Here that is for you.” On the second I wrote down Addy’s number. “And this is for Jake.”
“Great.” he said as he smiled again. He then took my hand and brought it to his lips. Holy crow Cody freaking Simpson is kissing my hand!
“I hope we’ll see each other again soon.” Now I felt giddy, watching him put my number into his back pocket.
“Yeah I hope so too.” I said, my voice barely above a whisper before he turned around and left for good. As soon as they were no longer in sight Addy and I looked at each other and we screamed at the top of our lungs.
“Fuck deafen me why don’t you!” Danny snapped at us causing me and Addy to look at him confused.
What bit him in the butt?
Man what a great freaking day.
