Addy had called me the next morning telling me how Jake had called her and it honestly bummed me out considering Cody hadn’t texted or called me yet, but he was famous so I was lucky he had even given me a second glance.
Today was Maddie’s birthday and I had gotten her something she had been begging for, a flat iron. My mom said she was too young to have one and I think that is a load of bull. I also decided to give her a locket with our picture on the inside. ”Morning mom!” I said walking into their house that morning and she smiled.
“Morning dear, how was the apartment last night?” she asked and I couldn’t stop my smile.
“Its amazing mom! You all should come over for diner some night!” I said and her face lit up. “Well I’m going to go wake up Maddie!” I said running up the stairs to her room. “Madds!!! Happy birthday!” I yelled jumping onto her bed and she groaned.
“Tori, go away!” she said pushing me off of her bed and I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Get up!” I yelled once again as I hit her on the butt trying to get her up. “Mom made you breakfast and you have a party to get ready for!”
“Fine, gosh, I’m up alright” she said rolling out of her bed before walking over to her closet to get dressed.
“See you down stairs sis” I said walking out of her room and to the kitchen where a huge breakfast was laid out.
“How was work yesterday?” my mom asked handing me a plate of food as my stomach grumbled.
“It was work” I said digging into the food and she smirked. “Whats the face for?”
“Someone told me you got a boys number” she said and I choked on my eggs.
“How would you possibly know that?!” I asked shocked and she chuckled at my confused face.
“Addy let it slip to Maddie and she told me, you are turning into quite the cougar…a 16 year old boy? Really?” she said and my head fell into my hands, embarrassed. “Is he cute?”
“He is very cute! He is that singer I showed you on YouTube a few nights ago, mom” Maddie said and I rolled my eyes.
“He’s famous?!”
“Yes mother, Cody is famous.” I said suddenly getting annoyed with the conversation.
“Is he gonna stop in and say hi to me on my birthday?” Maddie asked and I groaned.
“He has a concert tonight, Maddie. Besides he only gave me his number, its not like he is my boyfriend” I said and my mom laughed.
“He obviously likes something about you if he gave you his number, Tori. He is famous and he really shouldn’t be giving it out in the first place. And if hes willing to take that chance with you than I could see him asking you out” my mom said and I just looked at her shocked.
“It’s illegal mom!” I said and she scoffed.
“Isn’t everything good in life? Besides famous people get away with everything. Didn’t that Henry guy date someone twice his age?” she asked handing Maddie a plate of food and she nodded.
“You mean Harry Styles? And yea he did…mom is right, Tori, they get away with everything” she said and I rolled my eyes as my phone started to ring. “Is it Cody?!” she asked trying to be annoying and I rolled my eyes.

Maddie smiled as she blew out her candles, pausing to make the usual wish. After that everyone ate a piece of cake while Maddie opened her presents from all her friends. Mom and dad got her a Nintendo DSI with some games, Ethan got her a board game, candy land, which was his favorite to play. Finally it was my turn. I handed her the small box. Her face lit up when she saw her gifts.
