“Maddie, let me be! I can dress myself!” I yelled as my sister continued to tear apart my closet and she groaned. “Seriously this is my date, not yours!”
“I know but I am just so excited for you!” This is Cody Simpson, Tori, not just some guy you met on the streets” she said before squealing. “This is it!” she said throwing a pair of black leggings at me along with my favorite jean button up shirt.
“Well if you think about he is just some guy I met in Starbucks, yeah hes famous and that is crazy but people treat him like a celebrity all the time. Why would he want me to treat him like that if he is going on a date with me?” I said pulling the clothes on before slipping my TOMS on. “How is this?”
“Amazing! Now go! You don’t wanna be late for you first date with Cody!” she said pushing me out of my apartment. “Here is your keys, see you later!” Maddie said quickly before shutting my door and I sighed before going to my car.
As I pulled into the parking lot I saw Cody standing beside a black car and his security surrounding him. “Oh, great…this wont be weird at all” I said to myself as I parked my jeep. Getting out of my car, I tried to take my time so Cody would approach me and I wouldn’t have to go through the security.
“Guys, chill, this is her” I heard Cody say as I walked over. “Hey, Tori” he said moving past the guards to greet me. “Sorry about them, management wouldn’t let me go without them”
”Its fine, Cody” I said and he smiled before holding his hand out, waiting or me to grab it. “So what are we doing?” I asked placing my hand on his before he weeded our fingers together.
“Well I was thinking we could watch a movie or something” Cody said leading me into the arena he had his concert in the night before.
“That sounds great, but why are we here?” I questioned as he led me through the hallways, the security guards following us from a distance, as if trying to give us privacy.
“You sure do ask a lot of questions, love.” Cody said looking back at me quickly before making a sharp left causing me to stumble. “And to answer your question, the owners of this place are very religious and don’t hold concerts here on Sundays so I asked them if I could bring someone here for a date and they said it was open for our use so long as we don’t break anything” he said and I nodded. “I just felt like this would be more private than if we watched it in a movie theater” he said pulling you out onto the stage where a projection system was set up for movies along with massive amounts of pillows and blankets for us to lay on.
“This is amazing” I said looking at everything and he smiled.
“Good, I was worried you wouldn’t like it” he said softly and I smiled at him.
“Its perfect, Cody, thank you” I said and he ran his finger through his blond mop of hair.
“Your welcome, so what movie do you wanna watch?” he asked walking over to a laptop where a bunch DVD’s sat. “We have Iron Man, all versions, The Hangover part one and two, Aladdin, The Hunger Games, The Avengers, The Blindside, Looper, 21 Jump Street and Silver Linings Playbook” he listed quickly so I could choose.
“That is a lot of movies” I said and he laughed. “Lets watch The Hunger Games, then you can pick the next one” I said and he nodded letting go of my hand so he could set everything up. Not wanting to awkwardly stand beside him, I made my way over to the mound of blankets and pillows before taking a seat in them.
“You comfy?” Cody asked walking over to the wall to dim the lights before making his way over to me.
“Very” I said as he plopped down beside me, covering himself with one blanket before laying back on a pillow.
“So tell me about yourself?” he asked as the previews started and I smiled before laying on my side to face him.
“Okay, well I’m 18, I work at Starbucks, I have a little sister, Maddie, and a little brother, Ethan, I just got my own apartment, uhm I love your music but I’m more into country music, no offense” I said quickly, trying to come up with things to tell him.
“I don’t mind one bit” he said softly as he rolled onto his side. “I have a little sister, Allie, and a little brother, Tom, I travel on tours a lot so I’m not usually in one place for to long so whenever I do go back to Australia I stay with my parents in their home. I work as a professional singer, as you know and I am 16” he said telling me the same thing I had told him. “I hope me being 16 doesn’t bother you”
“What do you mean?” I asked curiously, turning to face him and he let out a shaky breath.
“Well, you know, I asked you on a date and you are two years older than me. I just hope it doesn’t bother you” he said shyly and I felt myself blush.
“It is not a problem, Cody, I promise” I said as the movie began to play, but I didn’t turn to watch it until I saw a smile on his pink lips.
The movie was great, it was my first time seeing it and since I had read the books I knew what was happening most of the time. “So you liked it?” Cody asked as he got up to put the next movie in and I nodded.
“It was great, but the peace keepers looked way different than I thought they would” I said letting myself fall back into the pile of pillows I had acquired.
“I never read the book so I wouldn’t know” he said, messing around with the computer. “So what do you wanna watch now?”
“Nope, its your turn to pick!” I said and he huffed before putting a movie in. “What did you choose?” I asked when he got situated in his spot once again and he smirked.
“Hangover part one” he said and I chuckled. “Have you seen it?”
“Who hasn’t? its probably one of my favorite movies” I said and he smiled brightly. “Tell me something no one knows about you?” I asked and he looked at me thoughtfully.
“Some days I wonder if I made the right choice to become a singer. I mean I could be in the Olympics right now instead of singing and it bothers me to wonder” he said and Tori frowned slightly.
“I think you made the right choice” I said and he smiled before softly lacing his fingers with my hand.
“I’m happy to hear that” Cody said gently playing with my fingers as the previews continued to play. “Can I ask you something? I don’t wanna be to forward”
“Fire away”
“Would you mind if I kissed you?” he asked and my cheeks flushed. Biting my lip I looked at him and shook my head slightly. Cody’s hold on my hand tightened slightly as he pulled me towards him before he pressed his lips against mine.
