Chapter 3

Flashback

New York

"Say aaaahhh" and he obeyed fast. I am currently checking my favourite lil boy,

"Yep there you go." And he closed his mouth and asked "Mom, can i have lolippop?"

By the way, she calls me mom because i've been his pedia since the day he was born.

"Your mom will get mad at me if i gave you so." I stated. And he has sadness in his puppy eyes but then of course i take seeing him like that.

"But just one. Thats fine?" I said and gave him the candy.
He took it from me and tried to remove the cover of the candy. I laughed because its really cute to him. Suddenly i heard a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I shouted. The door swung open and its my secretary.

"Doc. theres someone on thr phone who want to talk to you." She said. I furrowed in confussion to who it was. I carried Sean and walk to towards my secretary.

"Okay. Lei could you pls take a look on Sean while i answer the phone call?" I Asked her and she nodded. She took Sean from me and i closed the door.

"Hello? Doc. Mendoza?" I heared on the other line. "Yes its me. May i ask who is this and what can i do for you?"

"Oh Hi Maine! Its me Eloisa." And its my classmate back in Highschool.

"Hey eloisa. Its good to hear you. You called?" I answered back.

"I called to let you know that we'll be having a grand reunion party! And so you know everyones presence is a must. So can i count on you?" She said and i can hear her cheerfully.

I looked at the ceiling. "Well ah uhm great! But i dont think so. I mean dont get me wrong its just that i dont think that it can fit in my schedule. But is there something i can do to make it up to you guys? Like support?" I asked.

"Ah okay but lemme know if you can. And yes theres something you can do.Maybe i'll send you an email? "

And how did she knew my email? "Ah yes. Okay then."

"Okay bye meng!" Did she just called me by my nickname? "Bye eloisa." I replied back and i heared a beeping sound cue that she already hung up.

I sat on my chair on the desk and looked at the ceiling. Reunion? Not bad tho. But i dont felt going. Its not that i hate them but its been 10 years since then. Am i ready to see them? To see him.

My thoughts snapped out when the door swung open again revealing the one and only Sean. Followed by Lei. I giggled.

"Im sorry miss. Its just that he wanted to come here." She apologized. "No no. Its fine." I smiled at her.

Sean ran towards me. "Hello cutie patotie! Miss me?" I said carrying him to my lap. He nodded and smiled. "Aww you're so cute!" I pinched his cheeks.

Minutes later, someone knocked on the door again. "Come in!" And its was Jane. Sean mom.

"Hi Maine!" She greeted with a smile. "Hello Jane. How's the meeting?" I asked.

"Moooooommmy!" Sean got off my lap and ran towards Jane. She carried and kissed his cheek. "Hello there baby."

She sat down at the couch. "The meeting went good yet stressing. I already called John to come and pick us" She stated.

I smiled. "So how's Sean?" She asked. "Well, he's fine. Just make sure he'll get to Dr. Carter for his dental check up" i advised her.

"Sure." She said. Followed by silience. By the way Jane is my best friend here in new york.

"Meng can i ask something?" i eyebrows furrowed once more. "When will you have a lil one y'know like seattle down?"

My eyes widened. "where did it came from?" I replied back.

"Just popped in my mind." I glared at her. "I dont know yet and besides how can i seattle down on my own? Like i dont even have a boyfriend." I stated.

"You know i think you should have one. I mean your 27 already." She stated. "Dont worry sure i find someone later" i said wiggling my eyebrows.

"Ohh no you wont!" She shouted. "Relax im just joking besides im not that type!" We both laughed. And then John came from the door and walk to Jane.

"Hi Maine!" He waved at me. "Hey johny!" I greeted.

He kissed Jane. "Srsly guys im front of you plus your son's right there!" I said pointing Sean.

They both laughed. "Well i suggest you should better have one!" Jane insisted. "I hate you Jane". I said.

"Well i love you deary! Look we gotga go bye!" she said and Sean gave me a good bye kiss. I wave at them and watch them as they walk out to the door.

I sighed realizing its just me again. Alone...
