Chapter Twenty Four: Gorgeous

The atmosphere was tense, and one of those tensions that you could cut with a knife and it still won’t go away. Niall stared at the man in front of him, loss for words. He contemplated on running through the back door and even quitting the job, but it wasn’t supposed to be this way, he can’t keep running away from things in his life especially when the things are bound to happen. So he took a huge breather, looking into the eyes of the man he once loved, and was sure that he still does.

“Niall.” Zayn chocked out, running behind the counter and hugging him as tight as he could, and buried his head into the blonde’s neck. Niall hugged the man back, hands tightly wrapping around the lanky torso and hands lightly touching his raven hair. The two stood there, letting the scattered pieces of their hearts getting return back into one, mended back like a puzzle to what it was, one whole piece.

They didn’t know how long they stood there in each other’s arms, but when they pulled away Zayn had a smile on his face along with streaks of tears falling, “Niall.” He breathed out, lightly reaching out to touch the pale man’s face to make sure this wasn’t a dream. His hands caressed Niall’s jaw, “I can’t believe I found you Niall, I – I thought, I thought you were gone.” Zayn sobbed again, pulling the brunette impossibly closer to him, he wanted to cherish this moment forever.

“Can I see him?” Zayn asked as he and Niall were walking down to the street to nowhere in particular. Zayn started the sentence out of the blue without any subjection to it, but he knew Niall gets it and he knew Niall knew what he was talking about. “I. . .” Niall started, lost for words because he wasn’t prepared for this moment and he hadn’t prepared George for this moment. It was his fault that he thought he was good at hiding; after all, the entire world is a small place. Niall shrugged, “Zayn, I. . .” He tried finding the words to say but Zayn smiled that smile that assured Niall that everything was fine and he felt like a teenager again, falling for those dam eyes and that addicting smile. Niall will never get enough of Zayn, he’ll never get used to the feeling of falling in love.

“I want you to meet him,” Niall started, “But he thinks that his other daddy left . . . to never come back.” The brunette mumbled sheepishly, mumbling a soft sorry after. “Niall, what are you saying sorry for? I understand, okay? I’m just glad that you told him about me instead of keeping it a secret.” Zayn said, taking Niall into another hug, “And I’m also glad that I found you and him. There’s so much thing I want to do, so much to make up to the two of you.” Zayn pressed a kiss to Niall’s forehead, “I missed you.” Niall hummed, there was no need to reply to Zayn because he knew that he felt the same way, that he missed him and now, now they’re starting again from the first page.

“George! Come back here! You can’t run around naked in the house!” Niall whined, chasing after his son in the small apartment and trying to get the toddler ready for bath time, but the child was refusing to and entirely hated bath time so he did what he had to do, escape from his father – naked – and run around the house in hopes of tiring his father out. George quickly hid under his bed, ignoring the large amount of dirt underneath it and wincing when the smell of dusted floorboards hits his nose. “George, please babe. Daddy has a very important place to go. You’re just making me tired!” Niall groaned out load, searching for his son in the kitchen and then slamming the door to the toddler’s room open.

He smirked when he see a pair of legs peeking out from under the Captain America bed, he slowly made his way towards the bed, “Oh, where are you Sir George? You’re so good at hiding, that I can’t even find you.” Niall teasingly said, gripping on his son’s legs and pulling them towards him, “Hah! Found you!” He ballyhooed, cradling the naked toddler in his arms as the baby giggled, “Look at you, covered in dirt from head to toe; now you really need the bath.” George smiled cheekily, getting up from his dad’s lap, “Race you to the bath, daddy!” but it was too late after he had said that, as he had already ran off to the bathroom before the sentence even ends. Niall laughed, shaking his head as he followed the boy into the bathroom.

After George was bathed and ready for the day, Niall got ready himself, picking through his small wardrobe for something suitable to wear. Three different outfits and hats later, he decided on dark washed jeans, black shirt and a blue over jacket to go with it. After feeling the least bit satisfied with what he look, he quickly got his phone and wallet, double checking himself in the mirror. “Daddy, I think you look beautifuller than everything in the world!” George giggled, emphasizing by making a circle with both his arms. “Baby, I’m glad that you think I’m beautiful, but beautifuller is not a word.” Niall laughed, putting the shoes on the toddler’s feet and getting ready to lock all the doors before they leave. “But daddy, I just wanted to make sure you know that you’re beautiful!” George mumbled when Niall was locking the door to the house. “I know baby. Now let’s get going okay? Maybe we can get ice cream on the way.” The toddler cheered at that, holding his daddy’s hands tight. “Daddy?” George asked when they are halfway through walking and Niall hummed as a reply, “Who are you going to meet?” He asked curiously and Niall smiled, eyes looking hopeful and happy as he glanced at nowhere in particular,

“I’m meeting your other daddy, George.”
