Epilogue
One Year Later
“Zayn, you ready?” Niall yelled from the kitchen as he packed the last of the sandwiches in the basket. He heard a faint yell of ‘yes’ from down the hall and smiled, getting all the cold drinks into the cooler and carried them into the living room where George was sat patiently waiting for his parents to finish getting ready. “Hey babe.” Zayn huffed, kissing both Niall and George on the cheeks as a greeting.
Niall hummed softly, reaching for George's baby cup in the top cabinet before he picked up the toddler.
"Now, let's go!" Zayn chanted happily as he checked the house for a second time to make sure nothing was missing and all the lights were off - they were going to be gone for the whole day.
“Papa, I am too excited!” George giggled, jumping on the couch as his father came to him. The family of three was going out for picnic at the beach since George wanted to go, and he oh-so-cutely begged for it with his puppy eyes.
“I’m going to talk to mermaids!” The blue eyed baby giggled, eyeing his daddy as the brunette got the car keys. “I’m sure they’ll love you, G. Now let’s go.”
"Have you talked to Maura?" Zayn asked when he got on the car, glancing sideways at Niall. "Of course I did, she was fine after so, so much explaining. But I'm glad I walked out on Harry - I would've been stuck with him if I never got the courage to."
He glanced at George playing with his toy fish, "And George would never knew you."
Zayn buckled George safely in the backseat before he took a seat in the driver side, opening the window to let the hot summer air warm his body. “Are you lots ready?” He laughed, glancing at both of his boys to see George bouncing excitedly and Niall grinning before he started driving down the road and into the highway that leads to the beach.
Niall reached over to touch his husband’s hand, “We’re always ready when we’re with you.”
