I woke up to a loud crackling and rumbling noise and there was a really bright orange light coming from underneath my door. My mom opened the door and I started coughing as the smoke filled my room. "Jade, get up, we have to get out!" I jumped up and started grabbing CD's and my other things. I shoved them into the backpack that was beside my bed and ran out. I know it was stupid trying to get everything, but I just had to! As I ran through the flames, I was suddenly glad I always wore pants to sleep in. True, the fuzzy ones I put on were making my legs just about melt, but it was better than getting burnt and actually melting.

I felt like I was forgetting something, but I didn't know what. I knew my parents were already outside because I heard their frantic yelling. As I ran through the living room, I spotted my jacket in the chair, so as I ran past I grabbed it and kept on running. I ran right to my parents, who grabbed my bag and put it in the backseat of the car. Just as we were about to make our escape, I remembered what we were forgetting. "MOM, DAD, THE DOG, HE'S STILL IN THERE!" I screeched and my dad stopped the car before I threw the door open and ran inside the flaming house.

I seen him barking frantically and thankfully, he seemed unharmed. I quickly opened the cage with trembling hands and picked him up. I seen my mom and dad trying to come back in here, "NO, IVE GOT HIM, GO BACK TO THE CAR!" I yelled over the vicious flames. I ran out holding the dog, and my parents kept on running past me. What are they doing?! I put the dog in the car and went running behind them to save them. But before I could, I seen a sight that would haunt me forever: the house exploded. With my parents inside. I found them laying in the grass, their skin black with the ash and stuff from where the house exploded.

I ran over to their lifeless bodies, "No, no no no no," I whispered. "Please, please, oh God no," I grabbed my mom's wrist, checking for a pulse. Nothing. Same with my dad. "No, Mom, Dad, please!" I was frantic at this point, they were the only ones I had! I tried CPR, but it was useless, obviously. I heard the noise of the house burning getting louder, so I got up, said, "I love you, mom and dad," and I ran back to the car. Thank goodness I had already got my license, I heard the sirens of the fire trucks and ambulances. I pulled out of the driveway with my dog in the backseat with my stuff so they could get up there. It was useless now.

I stopped the car and parked where I could watch as they tried to save my unsaveable house. Something from the neighbor's house caught my eye. Their oldest son, I'm assuming he's the oldest, was watching from his window with wide eyes. He caught my eyes and sorrow took over his expression. I looked away quickly, not wanting pity.

As they tried to put out the fires and revive my parents, I sat there and sobbed with my dog trying to comfort me. About 30 minutes later, I heard someone knocking on my window. "Miss?" He seen my tear streaked face and sighed, "I'm sorry to inform you, but your parents are gone," I nodded and said, "Thanks for trying," and he walked away. I started my car and drove away, knowing where I, unfortunately, had to go.
