Chapter 8

Who invented heels?
They must have really hated women to have done this.

Somehow , Anna has managed to force me to wear heels .
I sighed.
Not even April had ever made me wear them. She knew exactly how much I hated them with a passion. I was a sneakers person.

I was now finally dressed.
I was wearing a simple black dress with small white dots on the neckline and which reached mid way to my knees.
Anna had paired it up with 4 inch high heels shoes thingy.
she had called them a certain type of heels but I just couldn't recall . she'd also given me a small black clutch so I could keep my phone in it.

I didn't like this at all.

I couldn't look in the mirror.
Just one look and all the memories would come rushing back , how every weekend she used forced me to come at a party with her or how she would glare at me whenever I told her to wear a longer dress.
And this one time when she'd dragged me to a party and was really annoyed at me because I'd just worn a pair of old jeans.

I sighed .
I really missed her .

A loud ring snapped me out of my thoughts. I suppose Niall had arrived.

I headed towards the living room , but not before almost tripping.
How the hell am I supposed to walk all night in these things .
Damn Anna for doing this to me.

I sighed and looked ahead and saw Niall and Anna making out shamelessly in the living room .

I groaned. " You guys are hurting my eyes , Can you keep it PG? " I said annoyed.
Niall chuckled whilst Anna just glared at me and showed me her middle finger making me roll my eyes.

We headed towards the car , Anna and Niall hand in hand whilst I just looked at them . I wonder though really if Anna was serious about him .

I got in the backseat whilst Anna occupied the passenger seat and whispered something in Niall's ear .
All I heard was something along the lines "good time tonight" and I mentally gagged.

We'd reached the party a good 15 minutes ago. The couple had somehow managed to avoid being touchy in the car to my relief but had immediately vanished as soon as we entered the party .

I had headed straight towards the bar .
If I were going to be at a party , then I might as well get drunk.

This party was by one of Niall's friend , Keegan , who was known to throw the wildest parties.

I ordered myself 2 shots of vodka , prepared to drown my thoughts.

"What's a pretty lady like you doing sitting alone in the bar " I heard someone say beside me and turned my head to see a guy sitting next to me.
He had black hair and dark brown eyes that would probably make any girl swoon , but not me.
Nah .
He had a few piercings and his entire arm was filled up with tattoos.
He seemed cool but I didn't really care.
I shrugged , not really interested in whatever he wanted to say.
"Let me buy you a drink? " He asked.
His voice sounded exotic , with some accent that I just couldn't place.
"I can buy myself whatever I'd like to , but thanks for the offer" and went back to drinking the shots.

He got the message and left immediately but not before looking at me up and down.

I rolled my eyes.

Do they seriously think I'm that easy?
Huh , idiots.

My throat was burning as I drank another shot of vodka . I felt someone staring at me and turned my head to see a guy wearing a leather jacket staring at me. A redhead was trying to grab his attention but he was staring intently at me .

He seemed a little familiar but I wasn't sure where I'd seen him before.
I frowned and then looked away , finding myself uncomfortable under his gaze.

I was probably on my 7th shot when I spotted Anna.
She seemed to be looking for someone.
As if reading my thoughts , she looked over at me and her expression turned to that of relief and then quickly changed to that of concern.

She was pushing past rows of drunk kids who were kissing each other.
I turned my head to look elsewhere but in every corner there were kids either making out or smoking.

"You okay? " Anna shouted since the music was so loud.
"Yes!! Why wouldn't I ? This party is amazing." my voice was a little raspy.
It was probably because of the alcohol.

"You wanna dance ?" She asked .

"Nah, cool kids don't dance" I replied lamely and she rolled her eyes at me.

"You should stop drinking . Your eyes are already red" she said ,concern lacing her voice.
This time it was my turn to roll my eyes "yes mum" I said and saluted her.
She sighed. " Well , let me know when you want to leave, alright? "
I nodded and she reluctantly went away.

It'd been a good 10 minutes of just sitting on stool and looking at the empty glass when I had this sudden urge to sing.
It had been a while since I'd last sang and I'd prefer to leave it that way .
I didn't need any more reminders of my past life anyways.

I decided to leave the party. It was well past 1 o'clock in the morning and I just wanted to leave.
I was heading towards Anna so that I could let her know when I noticed her grinding against some random dude.
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.
Somehow , I'd been hoping that Niall was the one for Anna but maybe that wasn't what she had in mind.

I sighed and decided to leave by myself.

As soon as I left the house , I took off my heels and started cursing Anna with each step I took . My feet were hurting and their was nothing I'd rather do than just lay down but the apartment was a little farther away and I couldn't see any cabs nearby.

I just really really wanted to lay down so that's exactly what I did.

I decided to walk to the nearest park, which wasn't that very far.
I was fairly certain that I'd heard someone behind me but when I turned my head , i came face to face with a small bird looking at me .

If my life were a movie , I'd probably be sure that the bird was some sort of a supernatural creature plotting ways to murder me.

I rolled my eyes at my crazy imagination. I've seen way too many movies.

I decided that I shall lay down there and tried to sit gracefully but being the clumsy ass I was , I fell harshly on the grass with a loud thud .
"Oww" I mumbled to myself .

My butt was surely going to need a surgery from all this damage.

I sighed and looked up at the dark sky .
I couldn't see the moon anywhere but only the tiny stars.

I missed both of them terribly .
