The sun was just rising over the blackened plains of the fire planet of Char. A Zerg Hive lay that the base of a cliff, all was quiet, for now. As the sun rose higher it's light fell on a three roundish objects at the base of the hive that were connected to the creep, they were Zerg eggs. As the sun continued to shined on the eggs one of them began to move. Suddenly the silence of the day was shattered as the egg burst open and two forms come out screeching, two Zerglings. One of the Zerglings ran into the shade cast by one of the Zerg structures, it didn't like the sun. The other one stayed were he was, eyes blinking as he took in his surroundings. The small part of his mind that could think for it's self didn't know why but it felt safe here in this place. The Zergling shook his head as he heard a voice in his head, a voice that he could not ignore, a voice that had power behind it, a voice that made the Zergling feel both calm and scared at the same time.
"You will serve... you will fight... you will protect... the crysalis..."
The crysalis he thought. Looking about he saw a large egg-like structure nearby. As he approached it he could sense the presence of other Zerg minds. He was so focused on the other Zerg that were hidden around him that the presence of another mind come as a shock. He jumped back as he felt this new mind, it was unlike any of the other minds he had encountered in his first minutes of life. It wasn't like a Zerg mind and it wasn't completely formed either. The Zergling went in closer. He could sense that the mind was under the control of a greater mind like he was but the mind also had the power of control in it, like the mind that spoke to him now.
"You will protect this crysalis... you will die before it is harmed..."
The voice faded but the command was still there and it set the Zergling tingling all over with the want to fulfil it, to the point where it was against his own will. He turned and looked at the rising sun.
"Yes." He thought." Yes I will protect this crysalis and yes I will serve, to the death."
