The chance

chapter 5

"Eli, Alex , myah get ready, we're going out to eat" my eyes slowly opened and a yawn escaped my mouth. I only got 2 hour of sleep. It was now 8 in the morning and my phone was just going off and off.

Oh no.
I was hesitating in grabbing my phone or not , and I decided it wouldn't be the best choice in the world . So instead i threw on some clothes and put concealer on to hide the bags under my eyes.

"Remember that we're going to be meeting some associates from work so be in your best behavior you three. And Eli please don't curse in front of them."

I noded my head in agreement and finished putting on some eyeliner. I headed towards my room to get my phone and earphones since I would probably be trying to ignore everyone there anyways.

My phones notification lights kept blinking and blinking , but I ignored it and just clicked on the botton on my earphones so the music would start playing.

Once we got in the car I chose to sit in the very back so none of my family members would try to hold a conversation with me. It's sad how I'm going back to how I used to be but no one notices. Maybe I'm hiding it without trying..
We arrived at IHOP a few minutes later and went inside , my mom sped up to meet a small family with only one son who seemed to be my age.
She called us over and we all walked over to them.

"Guys this is the hemmings family, and Eli this is Luke . Try and make friends with him yeah? You sorta need some. " my mom said to me.
I looked at the floor while everyone else laughed at her remark about me, everyone but Luke who seemed to stare at me as if seeing a hurt puppy.

He quickly walked over to me while the everyone else walked into the restaurant .
"Hi I'm Luke , I like your piercings and your hair by the way. Who dyed it for you?" The tall blonde asked me.

"I'm hey I'm Elizabeth but everyone just calls me Eli, and thanks I did all of it my self. Including the piercing." I said trying not to seem intimidated.

Luke was a pretty handsome dude, he was around 6'4 and has ocean blue eyes.
His eyes lit up once I told him about myself.

"You did it yourself ?!? Oh my God Did It hurt? Damn eli youre so punk rock. And your hair is really cool dude!" He exclaimed.
I chuckled at his sudden outburst.

Somehow I felt like I could trust luke, I feel as if Maybe he could actually be my friend. He seems to be nice and caring so far
But I won't get close to him.

My mind started wondering
What if he has a girlfriend.
He's gonna ditch you just like calum.
He probably just feels bad for you.

My phone snapped me out of my thoughts as it started to ring from an unknown number and I did the mistake of answering it.

"Hello?"

"Hey look the sex line worked guy! So eli you really are a slut aren't you? Man no wonder all the guys think you're disgusting. " it was cassies voice along with the laughter of her friends in the background that filled my ears.

I think my volume was to loud because the second she finished laughing luke took the phone of my hands and put it up to his ear and began to speak.

"Hello who is this?"
He said into the phone
"Awh guys look she's already fucking another guy!" She started to laugh.

I couldn't take this. I want a razor , I need a razor. Tears started to form in my eyes when luke began to speak again.

"Hey that's not cool man, what kind of bitch assumes that I would fuck my girlfriend on the first date? I mean if your pimp did that it's pretty fucked up."

I stood there amazed , the phone went silent as she tried to make a comeback.

But she didn't have enough time to do so, since Luke had already hung up the phone.

"If she bothers you .." he paused and put in his number to my phone "just call me okay? I'll be you're pretend boyfriend."

I looked at him amazed. Why was he doing this for me?

"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to bother you..or you know make you feel uncomfortable. ..."

"Are you kidding me? I know we just met and all but I can tell we're gonna be really good friends, plus you're gonna love my friends!"

His blue eyes stared directly into mine and for some reason I lost myself in them, all my senses were tuned out and all I could focus on was the shimmer in his eyes.

He then grabbed both of my hands in his and asked me again

"So Eli would your beautiful self like to mess with a punk rock nerd like myself?"

I felt comfort with luke, like nothing in the world could hurt me . And without knowing I had already answered his question.

"Of course, but I've got to say you're not very punk rock."

He looked at me as if I had deeply offended him and then smirked devilishly.

"Well then would you like to ditch our families and go do something fun then? Just to show you how punk rock I am?"

"Depends."

"On?"

"Well will this be considered a date or and adventure?"

He raised an eyebrow then thought about how he would respond to me.

"Well miss eli, it looks like you have just gotten yourself into a little adventurous date with luke hemmings." He stated proudly before texting his parents informing them than neither of us would attend the breakfast. Then he intertwined his fingers in mine and we ran and ran until we stopped in front of a giant home.

"What are we doing here?" I asked very confused on how this would be 'adventurous' .

"Well I was thinking we could go on a triple date and have my band mates come with us and bring their girlfriends!"

The idea of meeting more new people terrified me , but luke assured me that everything would be fine.

So maybe just maybe , for once in a long while something will finally be alright.
