A/N: Sorry this is such a short chapter! It's just a couple small scenes before the big stuff starts to happen and more gets revealed. Hopefully it hasn't been too boring thus far. I promise the good stuff is coming, especially with more Nova scenes!

Kali looked in her rear view mirror to see the black Porsche still following her. Lily had found her in the hall after the final bell rung.
"Ready?" She had said as she approached Kali's locker.
"Ready for what?" Kali questioned as she put her books away, keeping the ones she'd need for homework later. She also decided to tuck away the art project she had made in third period. It was just a simple painting of a cat. Nothing spectacular.
"For the history project, remember?" Lily's eyebrow shot up, looking offended that anyone would forget their plans with her.
"Oh! Right. Yeah just one second."
"Did you forget me?" The black haired beauty pouted. It amazed Kali how perfectly she pulled off the look. It was like looking into the eyes of a puppy. A top of the line, purebred, show dog.. puppy.
Kali bite her bottom lip as she shoved the last book into her locker. It barely fit in the small space. Now she wondered how she would get them back out tomorrow. Woops.
"No, I didn't forget you." She assured Lily who was still holding her pouty expression. The truth was, she was trying to forget about the project, because she didn't want to do it. Lily probably has an ancestry full of actors and actresses. Models even. But Kali? She wasn't sure what she would find and she really didn't want to find out anything about her father.
Lily's face twisted back into that perfect cheerleader smile. "Good. So you'll have to show me how to get to your house."
"My house?" Kali hadn't thought about where they would work on the project. A small tinge of panic ran through her veins. She was sure her house was nothing compared to Lily's. Plus, with everything that's happened, she didn't really want to bring her to her house.
"Problem?" Lily tilted her head to the side slightly, reading the defeated look on Kali's face.
"No, it's just.."
"Good! So you can lead me there."
Kali inwardly sighed. She knew it wouldn't do her any good to argue. Lily was clearly determined to work on the project there. Maybe she shouldn't care what she thinks of her house, anyway. Then she remembered her mother was still at the hospital.
"Oh! I need to stop somewhere first. I have to go to the hospital."
"Hospital?" Lily questioned curiously.
"My.. mom is there. I need to go visit her first and see if any results came back. If you don't want to follow me there you could always head home and I could come over to your house aft-"
"Nope! I can follow you there, no biggy. Just lead the way!"
Kali sighed as she turned into the hospital's parking lot. She had really hoped Lily would just go home and she could avoid the whole situation but it hadn't worked out that way. Now she found herself sitting helplessly in her beaten down ladybug.
Lily pulled her sports car into the next parking space, making her own vehicle look even more outdated. After stepping out onto the pavement, Lily rolled down her passenger side window. Kali's ears were greeted by whatever new hit was playing on the radio.
