The Maze Rider

Chapter 1

Rachel woke up to the clank of the box slowly rising, she ached all over and her back felt like it had been snapped in two. The box smelt like something died in here , it probably had.
She heard a moan from something beside her, she pushed herself into a sitting position and looked to her right. There slumped against the box wall was a girl with dark hair she looked almost the same as Rachel but instead of blonde hair she had dark brown hair. Her clothes were in tact apart from her left sleeve it looked like something had attacked her, Rachel hope the other thing wasn't with them in the twilight of the box.
Rachel looked closer at the Dark haired girls arm the girl had a gash across her left arm, "oh god, i can't leave her like that" Rachel thought.
She grabbed the girl by her torso and pulled her up into a sitting position, she ripped a strip of her top and started to bandage the girls wound, the girl jolted up and winced at the pain of the wound, "woah, calm down, I'm just trying to help you" Rachel said to the dark haired girl.
She started to wake, "W-wh-who, are you?" Ask the dark haired girl in a tremble, probably from the pain.
"I'm Rachel, and don't ask where we are cause i don't know" Rachel continued to attend to the bleeding wound.
"Oh, how did i get this cut?" She gestured to the gash on her arm.
"I don't know that ether, i just woke and you were hear and like that" she took a better look at the girl, they were near the same height and had the same coloured eyes, it was weird how similar they were.
"Oh, my name is Rose", said Rose as she broke the silence.

"Arrrr......why? Why?", it came from somewhere over in the darkness, hidden in the shadows.
"What was that?" Rose whispered, "i don't know but it doesn't sound happy" Rachel was curious about what had caused the gash and if it was this thing that had just spoken plus she wasn't gonna die this early, she crawled over to where the sound emitted from, as she grew closer she started to hear more moans but they weren't the ones of pain.
Rachel grew closer and then her hand fell into a wet puddle on the floor, a dark liquid and a dark crimson colour,she had to hold back but she couldn't help gaging a bit.
Then something hit her and the weight crushed her against the cold floor. "You! You! Helped her! You can die to!" The girl had blood shot eyes and purple vains bulging all over her she looked like a savage wild animal barely human and she kept screeching and thrashing as she lashed out at Rachel with what seemed a small metal blade, Rachel used her strength to push the girls flimsy body over and is crashed to the ground, Rachel grabbed her arms and pinned her down, she grabbed the blade of the savage and punched her lights out.
"Thats better she was really starting to get on my nerves", Rachel dragged the savages body over to the wall and in the ray off light, "so we can keep an eye on her".
"What's wrong with her?" Rose turned to Rachel, "i don't know but look at this".
Rose crawled over to Rachel, Rachel lifted the shirt of the savage and on her chest was a weird bite, well that was the closest thing to describe it to. It had purple vains coming out of it and it had started to turn the skin around it a horrible dead like purple.
"Mabey shes a zombie" Rose joked.
"Yeah right, but she sure seemed eager to kill us".
"Yeah, what was all that she was saying about killing me?" Rose gave Rachel a scared look and a flash of fear crossed her face, "It's fine i wont let her", Rachel embraced Rose into a hug and for the first time in the few minutes she had been there she felt she had someone to rely on.
