I'm coming up on my 2 month anniversary with my best friend, she lives in Canada. My mom recently went through my phone and saw things that she shouldn't have. I didn't have anything dirty, I just shared deep secrets.

When I saw her after she decided to snoop, she asked me who "my baby❤️" was in my contacts. "That's Maddy." I replied. "Who's that?" she would scold. "My friend from Canada." At first, I wasn't worried. But then I saw her stern face and I flipped. She went on this huge lecture about how stupid it was of me to befriend a person from a "sexual app", as she put it. She kept telling me that Maddy wasn't a real person, that she was fake. I then proceeded to tell her that Maddy and I have FaceTimed, and I know she's real. That only made her angrier. "It could have  been an old man!" she said, shaking her finger. I totally understand where she's coming from, but it's a little harsh. She then blocked Maddy from my phone, taking all ways of communication with the girl away. I cried, I was really sad.

Maddy is my new everything. I love Maddy, with all of my heart.

I was going to send her some things for our anniversary, but I'm scared my mother will yell again. But something, something inside of me is telling me everything's going to be okay.

And that little voice is all the hope I need.

I love you Maddy, till forever and ever.
