Hey all! Just wanted start a new story with one of my favorite parings, Levi Ackerman and Erwin Smith~! Just as a heads up, this contains spoilers from the manga so please don't ruin it for yourself by reading this. The manga is so worth reading!

Also, this story begins after Eren is taken captive by Reiner and Berty and focusses around Levi and Erwin's relationship as it is revealed through flash backs, story telling, and general remembering by Levi. I hope you enjoy it!

And yes, the beginning is inaccurate but for the sake if the story line i'm going to keep it. The rest should be pretty up-to-date with the manga though.

Enjoy!

The wall is broken and all I can do is sit here. Humanity's strongest and I am stuck with a Wallist priest, a suit jacket, and a hurt ankle.

Levi sighed and crossed his legs as he eyed the man beside him. Reverend Nick. What a joke. This man... He had known about the titans in the walls. He knew that they were made from their hardened skin. And yet he had kept it from them. All of this could have been avoided if he just-

"Captain!" Levi looked up at the frantic soldier.

"What's the matter?"

"Sir, Eren has been captured by the Colossus and Armored titans." Levi furrowed his brow.

"So they appeared? What was their identity?"

"Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Bran respectively sir." Levi cursed and stood.

"What is being done to retrieve him?"

"Commander Erwin is-"

"Captain Levi!" Levi stood and saluted the tall blonde man as he rode his horse beside him and dismounted.

"Commander."

"I assume you heard about Eren?" He asked as he strode toward him. Levi nodded.

"Good." Erwin turned to the other soldier. "You are dismissed. Go back to helping the others." She nodded and ran from behind the barracks. Erwin rubbed his face.

"Erwin, what is happening?" Levi asked gently.

"I'll save the small details for later but... We are mounting an emergency expedition over Rose to retrieve Eren." levi nodded.

"And I will be protecting the priest?" Levi snapped. Erwin sighed and put his hand on Levi's shoulder.

"Levi I know how you feel-"

"No actually you don't Erwin!" Levi snapped, slapping his hand away.

"Levi please-"

"Don't you dare." Levi growled. "You can't ask me to do anything."

"You're hurt Levi. You wouldn't be able to carry out your job-"

"Bull shit!" Levi snapped. "I'm not going to just sit here!"

"And I'm not letting you come back in a body bag!" Levi blinked at the command Erwin's voice carried. "I know you want to help but-" levi let out a sharp laugh.

"No Erwin. That's not it. Not even close."

"Then what the hell is wrong with you? Why are you acting this way?" Levi clenched his fists and avoided Erwin's eyes. "Levi..." The sudden gentleness in his tone and the soft touch of his hand under Levi's chin made him look up. Levi fought the panic he felt and held Erwin's stare.

"I can't just sit here and wait for you. Every moment that passes is another moment you could be in trouble and I'm not there to help." Erwin wrapped his arms around the small man and pulled him to his chest.

"I'll come back. I promise." Levi sighed as he squeezed Erwin's waist.

"Okay." Levi finally said as they pulled away. "And I'll be waiting." Erwin smiled and leaned down, gently capturing Levi's lips in his before he strode over and mounted his horse.

"Hey Erwin!" The man turned his horse sharply and his fiery blue eyes met Levi's cool grey ones. "You better keep that promise." Erwin placed his right fist over his heart before he kicked his horse and left in a flurry of dust.

"That was... Cute." Levi's cool expression returned and he spun. Damn, he had forgotten all about that stupid priest.

"Shut it." Levi snapped and sat back down beside him.

"I didn't know you had a soft side." Levi shot him a glare.

"I didn't know you had a death wish." Levi growled, waving the pistol at the other man.

"So what' the story?" Levi rolled his eyes.

"I would shut up now. You're on thin ice as it is." The priest shrugged.

"I'm just curious. And I doubt we will be doing much for a while anyway." Levi sighed. At least it would pass the time.

"Fine. But don't be pleased with yourself. I'm just doing it to pass the time." The Wallist priest nodded and Levi rested his back against the building behind them. "It started out as all the best romances do, with one intent on killing the other..."
