Apologies

Levi sat beside Erwin's bed, feeding him spoonfuls of broth after he had blown on them to ensure they were sufficiently cool for the older man.

"Do you think he hates me?" Levi asked suddenly. Nick had left with Hange some time ago so they were alone for now.

"Do I think who hates you?" Erwin asked as he took another sip of the broth.

"Eren." Levi sighed and put the bowl down, much to Erwin's pleasure. He wouldn't refuse food if Levi was feeding him but his stomach wasn't too happy with the broth yet. Erwin sighed.

"No Levi. I don't." He said. "You apologized to him and I think he'a forgiven you. I mean, he follows you around like a puppy." Levi felt a half smile twitch his lip.

"Yeah, he does doesn't he?" Erwin chuckled and kissed Levi's cheek.

"He doesn't hate you. You apologized and have proven your worth to him." Levi nodded and went to pick up the bowl again. "Un, actually I would rather sleep." Levi smiled and helped Erwin lie down before curling up on the bed, resting his head on Erwin's left arm.

"Sweet dreams Erwin." Levi mumbled, planting a kiss on the older man's cheek.

Levi crossed his arms across his broad chest and watched his squad as they flew through the canopy with unparalleled grace. "Yeager." Levi snapped to the brunette. The boy landed on the ground beside him. "Come with me." Eren nodded and followed obediently, putting away his blades and handles.levi walked with him in silence for what felt like hours before he was sure no one would see or hear them. Levi stopped abruptly and Eren bumped into him.

"Ah! Heichou I'm sorry!" Levi turned and grabbed Eren, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Eren I'm sorry." He whispered, clutching the boy close to him.

"H-Heichou? What's wrong?" Levi tried but failed to hold back his tears.

"That night. I was such an idiot Eren." Eren managed to pull the captain off of him.

"Heichou you've already apologized-"

"No Eren. Not like I should have." He shook his head and tried to wipe away the tears.

"Heichou please. I don't know what to do when you cry..." Levi bit his lip and managed to choke back his sobs, but his tears still came.

"I am so sorry." Levi whispered, his hand gently meeting Eren's cheek. "I have done unspeakable things to you and I have used you in so many ways Eren." Eren's hand met Levi's and his thumb grazed across it.

"I really do love you Levi." Eren whispered and Levi sighed and looked into Eren's emerald eyes.

"I know. And although that night wasn't supposed to mean anything, it did. I-" levi took a shaky breath. "I love you too Eren, but this can't go on." Eren nodded and Levi's hand fell from Eren's cheek. "I will not keep using you like this. You deserve better than what I can give you because my heart belongs to another." Eren furrowed his brow.

"The Commander?" Levi nodded. "I see..." Levi looked at the titan shifter and could see that he was holding back tears.

"Oh Eren..." Levi wrapped his arms around him.

"I'm glad you have someone." Eren whispered into Levi's hair. "And I'm sorry. If I had known-"

"Don't apologize." Livi whispered, holding onto the boy.

"Okay. But I am happy for you and think you should forget what happened. You two should be happy." Levi pulled back and searched Eren's deep green eyes.

"Alright." He whispered and pulled Eren's face down to him, gently kissing the shifter. "Goodbye Eren." Eren smiled.

"Goodbye Levi."
