All You Have To Do Is Pretend.

Dear Diary,

Well I officially want to shot myself in the head every time I see that stupid bitch on Liam's arm. His scars have cleared well but I can still see them, that raw red colour they were the night she done it. Niall and Harry were still getting me to pretend to be friends with her though so when she text me and asked me to come shopping with her I wasn't aloud to deny, especially as I was at Harry's house with Georgia and Niall.

"awww Ruby. You are going to have so much fun" Niall smirked so I smacked him round the head with the cushion. 

"fuck off Niall" I replied just as the cushion smacked his face repeatedly, he just laughed.

Lucy was coming round any minute to take me to the shops and I was beaming with excitement, not.

"Harry sweetheart?" His mum called up the stairs, "there is a young lady here asking for Ruby"

"ok mum!" he shouted down, "have fun Ruby"

I chucked the cushion that had previously been smacked around Niall's face at Harry and walked downstairs to see the skinny blonde at the door.

"come on Ruby, we are going to have an amazing day"

I just smiled.

As I got in her car, Niall, Harry and Georgia sat the window waving at me so I gave them the finger and we drove off.

We had been shopping for an hour and I already had enough. I think because I was brought up most of my life with my dad and I have always been a daddy's girl I never really got into shopping, especially like this. Spending half an hour just picking a top and I mean she took about 10 tops to the dressing room, moaned about every single one and then decided she didn't want any so then it was time for shorts and I had enough. 

"right babe, where do you wanna go?" Lucy asked.

"well, I need some new shoes"

"oh my god yes! Those converses are so erughh"

Well actually I quite like my dirty converses.

"umm ok, I just wanna get some Vans"

"oh gosh no, lets get you some heels" she smiled eagerly.

I fucking hated heels. I could not walk in them and every time I went out in some I thought there was a chance I could break my ankle so I just prefer dolly shoes or my 'erughh' converses.

"its really fi.."

"come on"

She dragged me into office and made me put on the ugliest heels I have ever seen in my life and even the shop assistant could see how uncomfortable I was.

"could I have a look at the navy blue vans please, size 6" she nodded and went and got me them.

"don't you like the heels?"

"I don't really like wearing heels all together"

She gasped like I told her I hated puppies. Anyways the assistant came back with my Vans and I happily walked around the shop in them and purchased them because no way was I going to get those ridiculous heels, but guess what? Lucy brought them instead.

We were getting hungry so we went to McDonald's and all she ordered was a diet coke because she was on a diet where you don't eat anything, idiot. So I went all out with a big mac meal and diet coke and then best boyfriend Liam came and joined us which was a barrel of laughs.

"hey babe" Lucy said giving him a kiss.

"hey, hey Ruby"

"hi" I replied before continuing to eat my burger.

They talked about going out for dinner and having a romantic night in and I almost threw up my big mac.

"Ruby? What are you doing tonight?"

"nothing I don't think" I managed to say with my mouthful.

"well Liam has this friend who is single and I think you would be perfect for each other so how about we double date"

I almost chocked on my food, "sorry, I need to be with my dad tonight, he is going through a tough time"

Liam just stared at me.

"oh, that's a shame, maybe next time"

"yeah" 

I finished off my lunch and then made out that I needed to go home immediately so I offered to walk but Lucy insisted that Liam took me as she needed to get her hair done, so she walked us to his car and then went off.

"look Liam, drop me off round the corner when she can't see us and I can walk"

"it's ok, I might as well take you home"

"Liam!"

"Ruby! I will take you home"

I refused to argue with him anymore and the rest of the car ride was pure silence, the only sound came from the radio.

Finally we pulled up outside my house.

"cheers Liam"

"Ruby?" he grabbed my hand, "I really do love her you know"

"I'm not saying anything"

"come on, tell me what you're thinking?"

"you don't want to hear it from me"

"I do" he just stared into my eyes.

"personally I think she's a twat and I think you're a twat for going back to her even after all her cheating and hitting you. You need someone who will treat you right Liam"

"someone like you?"

"I didn't say that"

"you didn't have to"

I shook my head, got out the car and slammed my front door shut.

"is that you Ruby?"

"no. I just happen to have the key to this house, my name is Fred"

"oh shut up" dad laughed.

I went upstairs and just laid on my bed listening to my music when dad walked in and paused it.

"how do I look?" Dad was standing in front of me in a suit and tie.

"very smart. Where you going?"

"it's an important night at work so we all have to dress smart"

I think he was trying to impress a girl but he did look good so I let him get on with it.

Instead I called Daz and told him to get round here to watch match of the day with me. We are both fans of arsenal and it was the local derby today so we had to watch arsenal whooping spurs arses again. 

He got round with beers and takeaway. He really knows how to treat me right.

"Liam keeps talking about you"

"oh yeah! What has he been saying?"

"that you are a nice girl and that he respects you for going out with Lucy and making her happy"

"oh right"

"but you're only pretending right?"

"yeah. So I can prove to Liam that she is a bitch once and for all"

"you know every time you get involved in something like this it blows up in your face"

"it's fine, I have Niall and Harry guiding me"

"exactly" he smiled.

He was right though. Every time I think I am doing something right it ends up going completely wrong. 

We laid out quilts on the floor and watched T.V until we were both fast asleep and then at about 2 in the morning I heard dad and a women come through the door and then he shushed her. He must of saw me and Daz asleep.

Does this mean dad has finally found someone?
