Carter then said, "We'll have to do our planning tomorrow. We all need our rest, so go home and get some sleep. All of you."
People started to move around towards the door. As I got up, Carter stopped me and said with a smile, "You know Rowan, that was a very good idea."
I felt a mix of embarrassment, pride, and worry, but I smiled back and thanked him. As I turned around to leave, Evelin walked past me, smiled and waved. I smiled back, and followed. As I walked back to my apartment, I thought of the big journey we all had ahead of us. I was worried, but also kind of excited that we would all be going on an adventure across the country. I just wished that it was for a better reason.
