Chapter Ten

The next morning, I woke up on a Kaylees bed. I’d slept over her house because I was so upset about the whole Aaron situation.

I felt like I could be overreacting. Why would I suddenly start taking everything Derek says to me to heart? It won’t be the first time he’s lied to me just to mess with my feelings, and it probably won’t be the last. Besides, Derek probably just doesn’t want me to go out with his best friend. I would be a little jealous as well, so I can understand where he’s coming from. But if he’s lying, he went too far this time. I don’t understand why I all of a sudden thought I had a chance with Aaron, we’ve never had anything romantically besides him randomly hitting on me when we both ran by each other in the living room or something.

I woke up Kaylee and she pushed me away, muttering a curseword. I rolled my eyes and started jumping all over her. “Okay okay I’m up.” She gave in. I smiled in satisfaction as she stumbled out of the bed, looking in the mirror and groaning at her reflection. She took a quick shower and we got ready together when she came out.

“What do you want to do today?” She asked. I shrugged my shoulders and agreed to anything she wants. “Good, let’s go to the boardwalk. It’ll cheer you up, considering you’re never this quiet.”

“Okay.” I chuckled. She sees right through me, I guess that’s why she’s my best friend. She knows I’m still a bit upset about the whole Aaron situation.

When we got to the boardwalk, the ocean breeze calmed me. We got ice cream and laid down on the beach to tan, stripping down to only our bikinis. After about 10 minutes I felt a body sit down next to me, but I decided just to let it go. That is, until I heard him clear his throat. I kept ignoring him until I felt Kaylee slap my arm. I pushed my sunglasses to the top of my head to see that she was smiling sweetly at the being to my right. I sighed and sat up, pushing my sunglasses back over my eyes.

I looked up to find a gorgeous tanned god sitting down next to our towels. He gave me a shining smile that was white as pearls and flipped his long hair to the side. I looked at him expectantly but he didn’t look like he was about to talk.

“Can I… help you?” I asked. He shrugged.

“Depends on if you’re willing to give me your number or not.” He gave me another smile and I couldn’t help but feel a tug at my lips in return. Maybe hanging out with him wouldn’t be so bad, it could get my mind off Aaron a little bit.

I smiled back up at him. “I think I will, just because that was smooth.” He let out a chuckle and handed me a pen that I didn’t even see he had. I raised my eyebrows at his weird preparedness.

“I was hoping” he answered my untold question. I gave a small giggle and wrote my number on his hand, then he wrote his on mine. After we talked for a while, and I felt a little carefree. Like I had nobody else to worry about by myself. It felt good.

The nice feeling lasted until Derek texts me to come home now. I don’t find a need to answer it, I just sigh and big Kaylee goodbye. When I get home everything is silent.

"Derek?" I called out. I heard ruffeling coming down the upstairs hallway and before I knew it, Aaron was in front of me.

He smiled down at me but I couldn't help but glower. "Hey babe." He greeted me with a kiss, but I pushed him away. He raised his eyebrows quizzically.

“Where’s Derek?” I asked.

He shrugged. “He went out for a little bit and said I could stay here. I used his phone and texted you.” He winked.

I looked at his ridiculously, anger swelling up in me. How can he act like this? "Did you feel bad for me or something!?" I blew up. He squinted at me like I was a crazy person. Hell, maybe I was being one.

"KC what are you talking-" He started.

I cut him off. It's my turn to talk. "You know Derek told me you were going to hook up with some other girl. I know we weren't official but seriously. You're so pathetic."

Shock was clear on his expressions. "KC, I wasn't going to hook up with anyone."

"YOU STUPID LIAR!" I know, I sound childish. But those were the first words that came into my head. "Whatever, we have. What is this? It's over. We're so done."

Suddenly, he took a step closer to me. I took a step back but he kept coming closer. Before I could react, he spun me around and pushed me up against the wall. His face was so close our noses brushed. I could feel his cool breath on my lips and I longed for him, but I knew it was wrong. He's playing with me, I reminded myself.

"Move." I pleaded, trying to struggle from his death grasp. He wouldn't budge, but it only fueled my anger.

Without warning, he kissed me furiously. It was rough and passionate, but I kept struggling. Of course, it wasn't long until I melted into his touch. His hands were everywhere, exploring my body. I began to kiss back with the same passion. When he felt me give in he pulled away, and I pouted for more.

"Trust me. You have to trust me." He pecked my lips again and I caught my breath while he nibbled down my neck, leaving kisses. "Do you trust me KC?" He breathed against my neck. A chill found its way up my spine and my body shuddered.

"Uh-huh" I gave in, leaning my neck up for more access. His hands began exploring again, and our chests were touching. He began kissing me again, his tongue finding its way into my mouth. He was suffocating, his touch, his smell all surrounded me. I took it in, kissing back obediently.

“Say it.” His voice was muffled against my lips, but I ignored his request and kept kissing hungrily. He didn’t seem to like my response, because I heard a growl from deep in his throat. He picked me up by my thighs and carried my upstairs with my legs wrapped around his waist. I pulled away while he was going up the stairs and worriedly begged him not to drop me, but he didn’t answer. He seemed unsatisfied.

He brought me to my room and settled me on my bed, getting straight back to pleasuring me. His hands fiddled with the bottom of my shirt, slowly moving it up and rubbing his big hands over my bare stomach. “Say it.” He repeated.

“I trust you.”
