"Where do you think we should start setting up a place to sleep?" The sun was already beginning to set and we hadn't been able to catch anything yet.
"We'll find a spot soon enough"
Nodding my head in agreement. I kept my steady pace behind Daryl, keeping my eyes focused on our surroundings, but I couldn't help but let my eyes linger at his backside every so often.
It was mostly quiet as we walked, neither of us forcing conversations on each other. I liked that. I didn't feel the need to make small talk with him. We both found comfort in the silence. The forest could almost seem beautiful, but reality sets in fast and remember this whole world has gone to shit.
Glancing to sky, I can tell it was at least past two, I watched as birds flew over head. A slight breeze sent chills down my arm.
Looking back to Daryl, I didn't have enough time to stop myself from smacking hard into his hard body. I fell back landing on my butt.
My eyes grew wide as I stared up at Daryl from the ground. I quickly stood up and began dusting myself off. "What?" Snapping at his smirking figure.
"Maybe if ya stopped staring at my ass, ya would have seen me stop"
My cheeks flamed red as I glared at him "I have no clue what you're talking about" Crossing my arms over my chest, I glanced around us. Trying to find any excuse I could to change the subject.
I noticed an old rundown truck in front us, the blue paint chipping from rust.
"Figure we can sleep in the truck till dawn" he commented. His eyes were still mocking as we looked at one another.
"Well good, now I don't have to stare at your ugly ass anymore" Smiling sweetly as I walked ahead of him. Adding a slight swing to my hips as I left him. I could feel his eyes trained on me, making me smile more.
Trees and bushes, kept the truck half hidden, looks like it's been here for a while. The truck was on the taller side as I got closer. Windows broken and windshield cracked. Stepping on the back tire, I pushed myself up and over into the bed of the truck.
"We can both stay in this and one of us can keep watch while the other sleeps" Looking down at Daryl as he inspected the truck.
There was plenty of space for the both of us.
Daryl threw his bag and crossbow into the bed and climbed in. We stood chest to chest, making my heart beat faster at the sudden closeness. His warm breath fanned over my face, causing my cheeks burn bright red. Meeting his eyes, I could feel my stomach tighten in anticipation.
The thoughts of us yesterday came barreling into my head. Making want to continue what we started. The thought of his soft lips on mine practically had me drooling while looking at him.
"Are we gonna talk about what happened yesterday" My eyes grew wide at my outburst, making my mouth clamp shut.
"What 'bout it?" His voice was low and gravelly, goosebumps began rising on my arms. Our faces were mere centimeters apart. He was silent as he waited for me to speak.
"I-I don't know." Taking a big breath "Maybe it was a mista-" His warm hand clamped over my mouth before I could finish my sentence. He quickly pushed both our bodies down on the hard surface.
"What the fuc-" Was all I could mumble out before pressed his hand harder against my mouth.
His body hovered over mine, keeping his hand over my mouth. My body went rigid as images of my father flooded my mind. Trying to push him off of me, whimpers began escaping my throat. His other hand went to my hair, almost in a soothing way. My eyes pleaded to him as his hand on my mouth slowly let up as he brought his index finger to his lips in a "shushing" motion.
