Chapter 4

Sophie POV

I was confused! Did he like me or was he just being a nice friend? I guess he was just being a nice friend as we were pretty close!

For a while at Calum's we just sat on his bed discussing life talking about Hollie and Ashton and how cute they were. After a while we got onto the subject of his parents. I guess you could say he opened up to me about a lot more than I thought Calum had going on. He kept it all so bottled up and I felt horrible that he'd been facing this all alone.
He explained how his parents had been arguing and they hadn't been getting along but no one would tell him why they were arguing! Most of the time he sat in his room with the door closed and his music turned up loud so he couldn't hear then screaming at each other.
He also told me how he only ever told his sister because he felt like she was the only one he could go to how ever he opened up to me about a lot more than he'd spoke to his sister about.

We stopped talking about it when it looked like it was starting to get too much for Calum and he looked like he was about to cry!

Before we knew it, it was 10pm!

I'd had a thought a while ago about what I'd sleep in and where I'd sleep but it wasn't the time to talk about it when I thought of it! But now I questioned it again!

At this point Calum was looking down at his phone at his Twitter so I decided I'd ask him!

"Um Calum....." I said waiting for him to lift his head from his phone "What will I sleep in because I don't have my pyjamas?"

"I have t-shirts you can sleep in one of those if you like" he replied

The thought of sleeping in one of Calum's shirts actually gave me butterflies! He gave me butterflies!

We both changed and I stuck my hair in a bun like I always to before I sleep.

"I like your hair like that soph and that t shirt looks cute on you" Calum said staring at the twist of hair on top of my head then looking me up and down.

I didn't reply I just smiled and blushed a little I think he got the hint that it was my thank you.
We sat down on Calum's bed and neither of us said anything. This was the moment I'd worst feared. The moment when we run out of things to say! I felt myself get hot and my palms started to get sweaty! I didn't want this to be awkward I'm bad in awkward situations.
After what felt like for ever in silence Calum finally stood up.

"I suggest we build a fort then watch a film or play Xbox I bet I can get more kills than you on black ops 3" Calum seemed like a little 8 year old girl when he said let's build a fort but I strangely thought this was a good idea so we built a fort.

We got as many sheets and pillows as we could find and we built. After about half an hour we finally has something we could sit under! It wasn't the best fort but what can I say when you get me to build anything!
We crawled under it making sure nothing fell as we brushed last sheets! Of course we made sure there was a gap to see the tv!

After a while of debating paper towns or woman in black 2 we gave up and decided we'd play Xbox instead!
I grabbed an controller and so did Calum! Now it was on.

We played for about an hour before I was fed up of losing! Somehow Luke had joined the game so now I had no chance! I placed my controller on the side next to the to and crawled under the sheets with Calum!
I lay in front of him watching him play Luke in a game of FIFA.
I was sure Calum couldn't see the to but he insisted I was okay laying where I was! I was laying in Calum's arms my head resting on his arms while he held his controller out in front of me!
This felt comforting Calum's arms around me I guess it made me feel safe!
At about 2 after 20 minutes of my stomach rumbling I turned over so me and Calum were now face to face. I could feel his soft breathing but his eyes stay focused on the game.

"Calum I'm hungry can we order food?" I ask in a low voice knowing his parents were sleeping.

"Sure! We can get dominos if you like? They deliver 24/7" he said pausing his game and sitting up.

"I'm gonna pop to the toilet while you order, can I have a Diet Coke I don't mind what pizza" I said before standing up completely forgetting the fort was there

A few sheets fell down and it didn't look like a fort anymore but me and Calum just burst out laughing.

"STOP!" I wisper shouted "I need a wee" I walked out the room being extra careful not to fall over or trip on anything.

I stood in the bath room for a while staring at myself in the mirror I don't know why but I did.

I got back to Calum's room and he'd fixed the fort and was back playing Xbox with Luke.

"The pizza will be 20 minutes" he said not taking his eyes of the game

I took my phone out of my bag before returning into the fort and laying down this time my head on Calum's chest.

I check Twitter then Facebook replied to a few messages and then scrolled through Instagram.
I saw that I had a text but totally forgot to open in and id only just noticed it again.
I scrolled the notification bar down in the top of my phone and opened the messages.
It was from Hollie!

From Hollie:
I hear you're sleeping at Calum's tonight! Was hoping we could meet tomorrow but I'm guessing your gonna be out with Calum! Xx

I read this out to Calum and he suggested me him Hollie and Ashton all met up and went to the mall. I thought this was a great idea so suggested it to Hollie. I knew she'd be up she doesn't go to sleep till like 4 am

To Hollie:
Hey I'd love to meet you tomorrow! Calum and ash could come too! How about 12? Xx

I locked my phone and place it on Calum's bed.

Before long the door bell rang and the food was here. Luckily Calum's door bell was extremely quite and it didn't wake his parents or sister. We didn't kind if they woke but preferred not to find out what they thought about us buying food at 2:30am.

It took us no time at all to finish of our pizza! And in amongst eating we chatted again about Ashton and Hollie and this time we chatted about Luke! Calum mentioned a girl I think he said her name was Jess I'm not sure but apparently Luke had a crush on her but she didn't go to our school and he very rarely saw her. We put the boxes to one side and laid down on Calum's bed.

I didn't realise how tired I was but now I was starting to drift off to sleep!
I snuggled up to Calum who was now just playing Xbox alone. I whispered 'I'm tired' before closing my eyes. I was in a soft sleep before hearing Calum whisper 'goodnight beautiful' well at least I think he said it I may have been dreaming.

Okay so I'm sorry if this wasn't what u thought it was gonna be I promise the next chapter will be better! There's gonna be a new character too.

So there's this boy and I like him but he likes someone else and life's hard rn😂 I'm joking life isn't hard but its sad tho cause he's amazing and he's cute🙈
