Chapter 6

Sophie's POV

The bus journey felt like a life time. Something in me didn't feel right I felt almost sick and I'm not sure why. Yes I was happy to be with Calum and yes I was happy to bed meeting Hollie I wanted all the details about Ashton but there was something wrong and I couldn't place a finger on it.

Once we'd got off the bus me and Calum were making small talk about what shops I liked and all the usually stuff and I guess I was feeling a bit better than I did on the bus. It took us just 5 minutes to get to where we were meeting Hollie and Ashton. Of course they were there already standing hand in hand facing each other smiling and talking. Me and Calum chuckled at this.

"Well hello there! You're actually on time for a change" Ashton joked with Calum

"Shut up I'm always on time" was his reply

It's kinda weird seeing Calum like this because he's so quiet in school and he doesn't seem the type to be late I always thought he'd be one of the people that's always early.

Me and Hollie exchange hugs before taking the lead with Calum and Ashton following behind joking around. We went into a few shops me and Hollie looked around at a few bits while Ashton joked around with the women's clothes pretending he was a girl with Calum throwing him disapproving looks due to all the people staring.
Before long our feet were getting tired and we were in desperate need of drinks! We found a little cafe with an outside seating area. The guys found a seat while me and Hollie went to get the drinks.

"I really love him" Hollie said to me as we were waiting in the que.
"I can tell" was the only reply I could manage.

We got to the front of the line and ordered our drinks and they surprisingly took a long time to arrive so I had to stand and listen to Hollie going on about how lovely Ashton was and how he brought her a nice new bracelet but to be completely honest I wasn't really listening I was still trying to figure out why I felt so sick on the bus. It has crossed my mind that maybe it was nerves of being with Calum and I didn't really know where we stood after last night I mean I guess he doesn't have every friend that's a girl stay round so did that mean we were more than friends or not. I also thought that maybe it was due to the fact that me and Calum didn't actually do anything in that way last night but Ashton and Hollie seemed to think that way about it and we probably didn't know how to handle the situation if they asked. I figured I was probably overthinking and before I could think anymore Hollie was tugging at my arm telling me the drinks were here. We walked them back over to the table and sat down with Calum and Ashton.

We sat for about an hour talking about the normal stuff like how we should do this more often and how good it had been. The time seemed to pass so quickly and by the time we had all finished it was gone 4.

We figured we could fit a few more shops in before we needed to leave. This time the boys went into a different shop to us after stating that it was 'boring' watching girls stare at clothes.

Me and Hollie went into topshop. We decided that now was the time to try things on. We grabbed as much as we could find before heading for the changing rooms.

I'd taken in a couple of skirts including burgundy pencil skirt. I also took a cream blouse along with a black bomber jacket and some faded blue ripped jeans.

Hollie tried on her grey floaty dress which looked super cute on her while I tried on the ripped jeans with the blouse and for a change I was surprised at how good I looked in it.

After trying on everything else we decided we'd get the boys to come and make the final decision on what we should purchase. Considering they'd more than likely give us an honest opinion.

To Calum:
Come to topshop we need your opinions!

I didn't get a reply but before long they turned up.
We came out of the changing rooms wearing the first outfits we tried on.

"That looks sexy on you babe" Ashton said to Hollie
I squirmed at the cringe of that sentence.

Calum wasn't like that well not to me anyway but then again we were only friends.

"That outfits pretty soph" said Calum with a grin on his face. Ashton gave him a nudge with a playful smile before getting a stern look from Calum.

At the sound of Calum calling me soph my stomach suddenly felt funny! I liked it but it made me nervous!

"Thanks" was all I could manage in reply before turning and heading to change back into my clothes.

We both got changed and took what we were going to buy before ditching the stuff we didn't want.

We headed for the till me with my outfit and Hollie with her dress and a mint green off the shoulder top.

Once we had paid it was after 5 and we decided it was time to leave we were all very tired of walking around.

Ashton's mum was picking him and Hollie up as she was going back to his again tonight. This left me and Calum to take the bus home just like we did to get here.

We waited just 10 minutes for the bus before getting on and going straight to the back.

The ride home was a lot nicer than the way there we talked about how we'd had such a nice day and we came to the decision that last night was good and I should sleep again sometime.

We got to my stop first but as Calum didn't live far from me he got off and walked with me.

One thing I noticed about Calum today was he was so playful with Ashton joking around and what ever had been said between them he must not want me to know because as soon as Ashton tried to hint something he got an angry look from Calum! Although when he was around me he never once stopped smiling and he's still smiling walking next to me now. We're walking in a comfortable silence as we get to my street.

He walks me half the way down before stopping by an alley was that leads to the street next to his. I stop with him to say goodbye.

As I turn to face him he is standing so close to me I can feel the heat from his body. I have to look up to him to see his face as he's so much taller than me! He's smiling yet again but this time he's looking into my eyes. I've never been good with eye contact I've always found it awkward but this,this feels comfortable. I feel like the world around me has just disappeared! It doesn't feel real. I feel like I'm in a dream! He wraps an arm around my waist pulling me in closer. He leans down slowly and softly kisses me,

"See you again sometime soon" he whispers in my ear before walking away.

This leaves me totally in awe with goose bumps everywhere! I don't move for at least 45 seconds just standing staring at where he was standing trying to take in everything just just happened.

As I come back to reality I realise I'm standing in the middle of my street staring at nothing looking like a complete idiot! I sharply turn around and walk to my front door still trying to believe what happened.

As I walk trough the front door I don't even bother saying hello I rush straight upstairs and into my room. I shut the door behind me and place my purchases on the floor. I slip off my shoes and plonk down on the bed.

There's so many things going round my head so many questions.
What do I mean to him?
What was said between him and Ashton today?
Does he feel the way I do?
Friends don't just kiss like that do they?
So many things to take in it felt like everything I though I knew about Calum had suddenly changed in the smallest of moments!

Does he love me like I love him?
