CLINTON'S POV

I heard voices downstairs as my eyes were half asleep. Screw them. Of all the places, they had to be at the foyer and obviously it gets pretty loud and their voices can reach up to my room. I groaned, muttering a cuss under my breath before pushing myself up.

"Morning Clint," mom greeted out but I just stifled a yawn.

"Morning," I said flatly. Mom was in the guest room, and here I thought they were in the foyer, that's how loud they were. I took a peek inside and saw Cassandra's parents, sitting by the couch in their casual attire.

"Morning Clinton," Mr. Logan said with a smile and I smiled back. What could they be talking about early in this morning?

I dragged my feet towards the kitchen as I rubbed my eyes. Alex was sitting there having breakfast while Melanie cooked up some pancakes.

"Why are they here?" I asked my sister, I have nothing against them but its too damn early for this.

"They're arranging your marriage with Cassandra," I spat out the orange juice that I was drinking and Alex just laughed at me. Melanie shot me a glare for making a mess but I made sure I'm cleaning it. "You should've seen your face! It was priceless!" She slapped her knees as she died from laughter.

"Haha. Very funny Alex." I grabbed a paper towel and cleaned up my mess.

"No, they're talking about some sort of vacation," she said and I gave her a confused look. "Vacation with our family and theirs." Alex sighed and took a bite off her waffles.

I can still hear them laughing from the room that is fifty feet from the kitchen and I rolled my eyes.

"So it's ours and Cassandra's family only?" I asked, that would be too good.

"No." my face instantly fell when she said it, "I don't know who else but were not going to be alone with them." Bummer. Melanie served me my breakfast and I cut proportions of it while I ate in silence.

Dad walked in the room while he poured himself a cup of coffee and I thought of this as my chance to ask him.

"Dad?" I said and he glanced at me.

"Yes son," he took a sip from his cup and paid attention to me.

"What're y'all talking about?" I asked and he smiled.

"Oh, we're going to California for a month next week," he said and I frowned. That means I have to find a house soon before we leave.

"With who?" Alex asked.

"With our friends of course," dad was smiling as he snatch a pancake from the batch Melanie made.

"Oh and dad?" I said, this my time to ask him.

"Hmm," he stood by the doorway and waited.

"Can I look for a house?" He stared at me in silence and Alex looked at me weirdly.

"Why? You want to move out?" He asked curiously.

"No, it's just that I'm a grown up now and I can live by myself," I said shyly.

"So he can bring girls home without you and mom complaining." Alex added and I elbowed her so she would shut up.

"Well yeah I guess, but can you do it when we come back next month? This week is just a tight schedule," I thought about it for a moment.
