Arriving at Hogwarts

Hermione's P.O.V

Hermione and Draco arrived at the station and got out of their compartment. Hermione told Draco that she would just tell her friends that they would arrive at Hogwarts last.

As Hermione saw her friends get out of their compartment she walked over and said "Hey guys, Draco and I have to stay and get the first years over to Hagrid and then make sure everyone gets a carriage, so we will meet you at Hogwarts after that."

Ginny and Harry said that it would be fine, but Ron looked at her strangely and said "Did you just call Malfoy, Draco?"

Hermione looked at him shocked. "Yes Ron I did because that is his name and he has changed, he apologized in front of McGonagall and said that he was forced into being a death eater, so give him a bit of slack and be nice to him okay Ronald!" She said matter of factly.

He had a look of anger on his face and then turned around and stalked off, he left Hermione in a bad mood. She then cleared her mind and started getting people to move over to the carriages while Draco led the first years over to Hagrid.

After all of the first years were gone and everybody was on a carriage Hermione and Draco walked over to the last carriage and were surprised to see Hermione and Draco's friends sitting together and being friendly.

They entered and looked around, every one turned and looked their way and Pansy said "Hello Draco, Hermione. We were just apologizing for the way that we treated your friends, I would also like to apologise to you Hermione for all of the bad things that I have ever done to you, and for calling you a ...  you know what. I've put blood status behind me and I'm trying to change, we all are. So will you forgive me?."

I looked over at Pansy and said "I forgive you and thank you, I'm sure that we can all get over our issues from the past and have a fresh start. Truce?" Hermione and Pansy hugged just like old friends. The group smiled their new friends, all except for Ron.

Draco looked over at Harry and said "I have apologised to Hermione in front of McGonagall on the train and she forgave me. But I also just wanted to say to you and Weasley that I am sorry for all the horrible things that I have said to you both in the past. Can we have have a fresh start and hopefully become good mates." Draco asked Harry and Ron.

Harry said "yeah Malfoy, we have all had our mistakes and I am willing to forget all of those things. I believe that everyone deserves second chances, so don't make me change my mind Mal...Draco."

Draco extended his hand and said "truce." They shook hands and gave each other an awkward hug.

Everyone looked over at Ron who just sat there. Hermione looked at Ron "Ronald Weasley, Draco has been nice enough to apologise, so are you going to accept or not?" Hermione questioned.
Ron looked at her then went "Hermione, I want to believe him but I just can't, you know just how much he has done to us over the past seven years and especially to you."
"Ron, I know that Draco hasn't been the best in the past, but he has changed, why can't you see that. Everyone else has seen that in himself and his friends so why can't you." Hermione replied.

Ron had just ignored her and fell asleep, by the time they got to Hogwarts everyone else was laughing and having a good time. Hermione shoved Ron's bag into his lap which made him jolt awake and yell "who in Merlin's name did that?", the carriage became quiet immediately and everyone looked at Ron.
Hermione looked up and said "I did, who else?"
He looked over and walked out in a mood.

-- 1 hour later --

McGonagall stood up to make the announcements, the first years had just been sorted and Gryffindor had 30 new members, Slytherin had 34 new members, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw had gained 26 members. As McGonagall was making the final announcements she decided to introduce her new Head Prefects "now this year we have decided that our Head Girl will be Hermione Granger and our Head Boy will be Draco Malfoy" both the Gryffindor and Slytherin table erupted in applause. "Also can you both meets me in my office after the feast."

Dinner finished and everyone left, Hermione quickly told Ron that she had to share a common room with Draco for the rest of the year and that she wouldn't be staying in the Gryffindor house anymore. He got really angry and stalked off. As Hermione walked over to Draco he noticed that she was sad. He gave her a hug and asked "what's wrong, you don't seem like yourself."

She looked up at him and said "Ron's been in a mood all day, I haven't seen him all summer and he his being the biggest jerk ever." Draco listened to her babble on about Ron and started to feel jealous. They finally came to a halt outside of McGonagall's office and said the password, they walked in and the McGonagall showed them the way to their new common room.

They arrived at their new common room and were surprised to see that Professor Snape was their portrait. McGonagall started "now your password is Lemon Drops and tomorrow organise a meeting for the Prefects, have a good night and enjoy your new common room." With that done and dusted we said the password an entered.......
