I glared back at myself in the mirror. I could not get my stupid hair to detangle! I tugged the comb through it two more times before sighing in defeat and clipping it back. I was wearing a buttoned light blue blouse and a knee length black skirt. I smoothed it out and ran downstairs, sitting at the table and pouring my cereal, because I cleverly placed the box on the table last night. I almost felt to nervous to eat, but knew if I didn't that I would have trouble focusing on my first day. I made sure I had everything I needed in my book bag: pencils, pens, a couple notebooks, my lunch, my schedule, highlighters just in case, and my preordered gym clothes (ugh), yup all set!
I then leave a note for my mom on the fridge that I'll be gone at school and then off to hang with a friend, a.k.a. Kota and friends. I race out the door for Kota's driveway, the designated bus stop, without a second glance back. I wave to him and Nathan as I watch grins appear on both of their faces. "Ready for the first day?" I shrug as my nerves build. "I'm just a little nervous. I mean, anything could go wrong, but lots of good things can happen too. We could get shoved in the hallways, but we could also enjoy a peaceful lunch." What if nobody likes me though? Eh, I'm used to that. Even though it doesn't take away the sting. As we board the bus, escaping the crisp fall air, the bus driver greets us with a tired smile. I smile back and slide in between the two boys. Nathan on my left, Kota on my right. The bus is noisy although we sit in silence. When we reach the school we file off, and I tell them I'm going to stop at my locker and then meet them in the courtyard. He nods slowly and I head to my locker, making my way through the crowded halls. I'm confused when I hear cat calls but ignore them and open my locker. Be invisible. On my way back, a guy comes up to me. So much for invisible. "Can I help you?" He shrugs. "Nah, that's okay. I'm Louis." "Oh... well than why are you over here?" He shrugged again and I shifted in my spot unsure of what was supposed to happen next. Kota, save me!

Gabe's P.O.V.

I walk around, trying to find my way to the courtyard where the guys are gathering. Also I want to meet the trouble Luke's been telling me about. Blondish hair, green eyes. Lovely smile. I'm almost there when I notice a small petite girl, blondish hair. She looks uncomfortable so I walk over to help her. I have a plan, if she'll play along. I walk over and throw my arm over her shoulder. She jumps. "Geez, you scared the daylights out of me." I shrug. Her face shows fright, but I also see a hint of confusion and relief. "Who you talking to sweetheart?" I ask nonchalantly. She then realizes the role she is playing from the endearment I offered. She shrugs. "Just this guy, Louis." My eyes narrowed, I frown. "Well, you can leave now, thanks for keeping her company." He shrugs and walks away. She sighs relieved as I remove my arm. "You going to try me now, too?" She looked a little nervous but I shook my head. "Nah, just wanted to help. You were good, what's your name?" "Sang. Thanks." "I'm Gabe." A look of realization dawns on her face. "You must be looking for Kota!" I nod, confused. "Oh, he hasn't told you about me?" I realize too, now. "You're the trouble maker?" She blushes and shakes her head. "I don't cause-" "Relax, I'm just teasing. Don't listen to me, I say a lot of stupid things okay?" She laughs. "You're not alone on that one. Let's find Kota." I study her features. Green sparkling eyes, but her hair- not quite blonde. We reach the table and Kota looks at her relieved. "Oy, you're lucky I saved the damsel in distress here." She blushes. Kota gives me a confused glance. "Some guy Louis came up to her. She's a pretty good actress." Her pink cheeks flush red. "Oh, sorry Sang." She looks down at her hands. Sang looks at the few surrounding people and back to us, then back at them. "What's wrong?" Nathan inquired. She shrugged and pulled out her schedule. After looking it over, she catches me staring. I crook my finger towards her. Her hair is really bothering me. I have her sit next to me before I pulled the clip out of her hair. Curls of what I would say chameleon colored hair fell from a twist and tumbled to her shoulders. "Wow. Your hair is beautiful." "Thanks." She murmured. "Why do you keep it clipped up like that?" Sang shrugged. "Why not?" "Because it's gorgeous, that's why not." She giggled. The other guys started to gather up at our table although soon enough it came time for oh so dreaded school. I groaned but marched off towards my home base. "Gabe!" A voice called. I turned around. It was Sang. "Um, bye." I gave her a smile. "Bye."

Sang's P.O.V.

Are you kidding me? Poetry? We were sitting at lunch in the courtyard. I had my lunch in front of me. I picked at my sandwich. I can't believe we have to write poetry. I am a horrible poet. Ugh. I stand up and father up my trash. "I'm going to throw away my trash!" I call. They all give permissive nods, but I can tell their eyes are following me. As I am heading to the trash can, someone bumps into me. I frown and pick my stuff up. They kneel too. It's a girl. "I am so sorry." I shrug. "Are you sure?" "Yeah, I'm good." "Oh, okay. I'm Karen by the way." I nod and in return give her my name. She seems nice. She calls out a bye and dashes away. I finish throwing away my trash and I go back to the table. The guys continue the conversation again. Okay, so be it. I pulled out a piece of paper and began to write. Here goes nothing....

So, yeah, a short bit of a filler chapter but I wanted to update before thanksgiving. Also, I actually wrote the poem Sang wrote! If you'd like to read it, find my poetry book, If Nothing Else. It is already posted there. The poem is called hidden hearts. So, question of the chapter, what are some things you're thankful for? So, comment, vote, smile, and have a good rest of the week!!!!
