*My favorite The Story Cover!*

After school, Gabe decided to hang out at my house. But of all the things I expected us to do, like surprise shopping or messing with my hair, it seemed nothing like that would be happening. Because Gabriel stood on the porch and next to him was a case. A guitar case. I quickly catch up to him and unlock the door. He walks into the living room and opens his case, taking out a polished wood acoustic guitar. He also grabs a notebook and pencil which were tucked neatly into the case as well. "Do you happen to have a music stand?" He asks. I nod and rush of to get it, returning and setting it up in front of him. Then I take a seat next to him. He strums a few chords and hums a little before he starts playing a song I recognize. It's "The story" by Brandie Carlile. I let him sing the first part before quietly joining in.

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am

But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true
And I was made for you.

Gabe stops with a smile on his face. "Sang, your voice is beautiful. How come you never told me you sang?" I shrug. "A: it never came up. B: I'm not that good." He watches me for a moment before opening his notebook and placing it on the stand words are scribbled down the page in surprisingly neat handwriting. "What is it?" "It's songs that I wrote," he says shyly. "They're not like, super awesome or anything like that though. Would you like to hear one?" I nod and smile. "Promise you won't laugh?" "I promise." He nods, a faint blush dusting his cheekbones. Is embarrassed? Nervous maybe? If it was me I would be both. Actually if we're being real, I wouldn't offer to play a song I wrote in the first place. He quickly tunes his guitar and starts to sing softly. I follow the words on the page as they flow from his mouth.

Her face is like an open book
But she's a mystery
Her smile almost covers up
The pain in her eyes that I can see

She doesn't know
She doesn't know
She doesn't know
She's beautiful.

I tell her so
I tell her so
She needs to know
She's beautiful

She's bold enough to do the dares
But shys away from my eyes
She thinks she falls short of beauty
Because all she's ever heard is lies

This time I join in on the chorus and let my mind wrap around the sound of the beautiful harmony. That right now, me and Gabe are making music.

She doesn't know
She doesn't know
She doesn't know
She's beautiful

I tell her so
I tell her so
She needs to know
She's beautiful

I let my voice drop again and listen to the guitar break. Gabe expertly moves his fingers across the strings, eyes closed, breathing deeply. Then he starts singing again.

I wish I could take back all the insults planted in her mind
But only truth can help me now
To help her put it all behind
I will tell her everyday if that is what it takes
'Cause everyone that called her names
Were making mistakes

I join back in on the final repetition of the chorus, trying not to cry. Something about this song just touched somewhere deep in my heart.

And she doesn't know
No, she doesn't know
She doesn't know
She's beautiful

So I'll tell her so
Yes, I'll tell her so
She's gonna know
She's beautiful

She's beautiful.

He stops and that's the end. I'm crying. Gabe turns to look at me and frowns. "It wasn't that bad was it?" I smile through my tears. "No, Gabe. It was beautiful. I'm so glad you shared it with me. Thank you." He smiled softly and gives me a hug.

Gabe's P.O.V.

Oh Sang, I think to myself, rubbing her back. She doesn't know that the song was about her- but I still can't believe that she can sing. Or the fact that she loved my song....and she cried over it! Wow. I'm glad I did decide to bring my guitar and sing after all. As I like to say, "You never know until you find out." Yeah, it's cheesy but it makes perfect sense. "Have the boys ever heard that?" I shake my head no. "No, but the boys know that I sing and play the guitar. Sometimes me, Victor, and Mr. B play together." She looks up, her eyes sparkling. "Really?" "Yeah. Me and Victor sing, I play the guitar, Victor plays the piano, and Mr. B plays the violin." "Do you think you guys can play for me sometime?" I smile at the look on her face. Kind of childlike when they ask for something and then their parent says 'maybe'. So, that is exactly how I respond. "Maybe," I whisper. She grins and I laugh. "No promises." "That's fine by me," she says happily, clapping her hands and bouncing up and down. Then, the doorbell rings. I follow her to the door and watch as she opens it, laughing. I'm about to ask her what's so funny when Luke walks in with a gas station bag in his hand and a grin on his face. "Oy, Luke. What do you want?" He pretends to look hurt before grinning wider. "Don't be so mean, I brought candy." Trouble giggles and I smile. "Yeah, whatever, come on in." Sang closes the door and jumps up and down. Luke tosses me some skittles and Sang some m&m's. "Let the fun begin!" Luke exclaims and I roll my eyes. Here we go.

Yay! Two updates in one day! Smiles for everybody. So yes, I wrote the song that "Gabe wrote" in this chapter let me know if you like it! Bye!
