"Hello, how may I help you?" I politely asked.

"I would like a medium coffee," he replied, giving me a five dollar bill.

"Your change is $2.50."

"You can keep it."

Before I could even protest, he walked away to the wooden table, beside the windows. As I was making his coffee, I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing at a little cafe. Shouldn't he be out partying and getting drunk? After all, it was a Friday.

Leo was the most popular boy in the whole school. With his light brown hair and ocean blue eyes it wouldn't take a lot of effort to be well liked. The majority of the girls in our entire grade either had a crush on him before, or still do. Of course, there were some exceptions and one of them was me. Sure, he was attractive, but from what I heard, he was a jerk to everyone that wasn't popular. Instant turn off right there.

I walked over to his table and gave him his cup of coffee. He was too distracted reading a book, that he didn't even notice me.

"What are you reading?" I asked out of curiosity.

Instead of replying, he just handed it over to me. The cover was covered in black, with white letters. My Last Wish was the title but there wasn't an author's name. How mysterious. I turned the book over and read the summary.

On Christmas, a little boy wished for a gift. No, it was not for a toy, video games, or the newest computer. It was for his parents to get back together.

"Don't worry, it has a good ending," Leo suddenly said, grabbing back the book.

"It sounds interesting."

"Yeah, it is. You want to borrow it?"

"If it's okay with you," I replied, surprised with his offer.

"Once you're done just give it back to me at school. Wait, you do go to Winters High School, right?"

"Yeah, I'm in the same chemistry class as you."

"Ah...yes the new girl. Sorry but what's your name again?"

Of course, he didn't know my name. But why would he need to in the first place?

"It's Lily Summers."

"Well Lily, nice to meet you, I'm Leo," he said with a goofy grin on his face.

I know, I already know. After all who doesn't know the famous Leo Carter?

Hello! Thanks for reading my story again. Sorry if it's a little short, but the next chapter will be longer. That's enough dialogue writing for me, haha (I hate writing dialogue).

What did you think of this chapter? What do you think will happen next?
