I was sitting impatiently in the food court by myself. Where was Victoria? She was supposed to arrive 15 minutes ago! We were going to buy Halloween costumes together to go to the party later tonight. It's kind of funny how she asked me to hang out first, but is the one that's late. If she's not here within 10 minutes, then I'm leaving.

Meanwhile, I guess I could get some food while I wait. Hmm, should I get ice cream or a milkshake? It's decisions like this that makes life complicated. After I finished eating my green tea ice cream, I still didn't see her anywhere. It's already been over 25 minutes. As I was getting up to leave, I heard my name being shouted from across the food court.

"Well now you decide to show up!" I said, crossing my arms.

"I'm really sorry. I was stuck in a traffic jam for like, 20 minutes," she said, nervously.

"Don't worry, I understand. Just remind me to never hang out with you ever again," I joked.

"Wow, I'm hurt," she replied exaggeratedly. "Come on, let's go find some costumes."

~~~~~
"So this was the place you were talking about?"
"Yep, I go here every year. They always have the perfect outfits."
We were standing in front of a huge store that was filled with people. I guess everyone always buys their costumes last minute.
"There's always a 50% off sale on Halloween," Victoria explained.
We started looking through the shelves with the cheapest outfits first.
"This won't work. Why don't we try look over there?" she suggested, pointing to the area with the most teenagers.
After 10 minutes of searching through endless piles of clothes, I found something that I might consider wearing.
"Ooh, that's cute," Victoria said, glancing over.
"Do you want to try it on?" a random employee asked.
Where did she even come from? No wonder I never got hired for any retail jobs, I didn't have any teleporting powers.
"Sure, thank you."
She led me to an empty changing room and closed the door. Alright then, let's try this costume on.
~~~~~

"Well, how do I look?" I asked.

I was wearing a plain white dress that went up to my knees and a pair of bunny ears headband. I had to admit, I quite liked how it looked on me.

"Aww, you look so cute!" Victoria gushed. "All the guys' eyes will be glued to you."

"Thanks I guess?" I laughed awkwardly.

"Anytime. I'm going to try this on, okay?"

"Sure, take your time."

She came out a few minutes later wearing a short black dress and a giant witch hat.

"Pretty, how much is the costume?" I questioned.
