I looked towards the door, disbelieving. Did Gerald really just leave me knowing that he's about to expose me to some deadly disease?! No "Good luck!" or "Get well soon!" to comfort me at all?! Just a "go on now little one and catch NIDS so I can save my granddaughter!" Speaking of which... I turn around and look at what I expect to be a room. But then, room is far too insulting of a term. This place is huge! I can't believe what I am seeing. I am in a giant chamber painted gray and white with a huge window spreading the length of one wall, and farther down the room elongates into a hallway. I scan the ceiling, but my gaze is drawn back to the enormous glass panel set into the ship. Through it space looms, blacker than anything I have ever seen before, with a billion stars all gleaming brightly. Below them, spinning slowly, is an enormous blue and green planet with wisps of white coiling around its surface. A giant star is shining on the side of it, and I can see other planets in the distance. The blue parts of the planet, which I assume are made up of water, are shiny, and sparkle white in the star's light. Some parts of the planet hide beneath a white cover that occasionally flashes with small pinpricks of light. I've never seen anything so gorgeous. I could stare out this window forever. I realize that I have walked over to the glass, without ever telling myself to move. It's so... amazing! I never knew something so beautiful could even exist!
I stand there, looking, for a long time. Maybe a minute, maybe an hour, maybe an eternity. I may be young, I think, but this is the most amazing moment of my life. I watch as the planet spins below, and I start to wonder if people live on it, what it's called. I wonder why Gerald did not give me knowledge of this planet. Is he trying to hide something from me? A planet is pretty hard to hide from someone who's orbiting it. I wonder about the planet, and even though I can't answer any of my questions, I try anyways. I wonder if Gerald once lived down there. Maybe I could ask him after I--
"Hello? Is there someone ther--Oh! Who are you?" a voice sounds behind me, and I whirl. Before me is a...girl?
Sorry about the short chapter, but I love suspense, so...
