The village was very small and crowded. Vampires where herding young vampires into houses. Sally gasped at the thought of biting little ones as a group of small werewolves galloped past toward the middle of town. The main area had three fountains, one for each of the monsters that lived in the small village.

"They where born werewolf," Nikki explained seeing Sallys expression, "we normally don't bite humans and if we do its an accident."

"Why is everyone going to the fountain?" Sally asked.

"Alpha speaks at the end of each night," Nikkis explained.

"Each night?" Sally whimpered out the question as Nikki pushed her into the crowd of wolves. Nikki couldn't answer as Jonah stood up on the main fountain.

"We have a new member," Jonah grumbled, "thanks to that little attack on Bacau, Menark rescued a hunter that was bitten and had been sentenced to death."

This brought lots of growls and glaring at Menark. Sally, fearing for her and Erics lives, backed away from the group. Heads jerked around as a twig snapped under Sallys large paw. Dozens of Fanged wolves faces Sally, growling and snapping at her.

"Murderer!"

"Child snatcher!"

"You have no right to be one of us."

Sally was scared beyond her wits. She backed away, trying not to be to close the the angry wolves. Menark jumped in front of Sally as Eric hoped of Nikki and ran to Sallys side.

"Leave her be!"Menark growled.

"Pack," Jonah barked, "she has seen the real Sampson! He almost shot her in front of her mate! Menark saved her life!"

"welcome to the pack!"

Faces grew into smiles as Sally was warmly excepted into the pack. Sally stood frozen in utter confusion. The pack laughed at the look on her face and explained that the never really meant any harm, they were seeing if she was a spy for Sampson. Jonah, Menark and Nikki, lead Eric and Sally down the street. The group passed threw many alleyways and turned many times before finally stopping in front of a one story gray brick house.

"This belonged to an old member of the pack," Jonah muttered, seeming to have other thoughts on his mind, "its yours now."

A large, thick, oak door blocked intruders from entering the home. The gray outer brick was over grown with vines and shrubbery. A chimney poked its head into view over the roof of the house. Opening the door reveled a small inter room with an even smaller outer room that had a bed in it. A fire place sat in the far left corner warming the house with its welcoming glow. A bucket sat on the counter top with water inside for dishes. Plates and bowls sat next to pots and pans on the small round table that set in the bottom left corner of the house. A pair of chairs sat in the bottom right and the bed room in the upper right.

"Thank you," Sally barked, "when do I turn ba-"

Right as Sally asked the question her hand started to turn human and her back paws started turning into feet. Nikki grabbed a blanket and threw it over Sallys shoulder as Sally returned to her original form. Nikki, still a wolf, and Jonah, also still wolf, nodded their heads and walked out the door. Sally went to a nearby closet and found a white night gown. Eric turned to face the bed as Sally changed into her night gown.

"So," Eric started, "what was all the growling about?"

"The pack knows I was a hunter." Sally said and covered her head with the blanket as she went to sleep.

The afternoon sun shown threw the windows throwing long shadows over Sallys face. A knock on the door woke her as Eric opened the front door letting Nikki in the house. Sally sat up rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"What time is it?" Sally asked as she pulled the blankets away.

"Almost six," Nikki replied as she threw a raw stake at Sally. Sally caught it in her hand and ate it quickly. The two girls quickly left for the fountain.

"Lock the door!" Sally told Eric as she followed Nikki out of the house.

"I will!" Eric promised, "do only what you believe in. Do what's best for the village!" he added as he watched Sally and Nikki disappear down the road to the middle of town, basically reading Sallys thoughts.
