Chapter 2
I wake up groggily while my alarm continues to go off. I hit the snooze button when I realized--
Great. Today is my first day of Twelfth grade. Wonderful.
I roll out of bed and run into the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I got out, I went to my closet to choose out my outfit for today. I decide to go with the skater/surfer girl kind of look with a blue striped tank top, demine shorts, vans, and to top it all off my lucky blue sweater.
I swept down the stairs actually kind of excited that I start school for the first time since my parent’s death. I might even make some friends.
I zoomed down to the kitchen grabbing my backpack on the way and sat down to eat my breakfast. I was trying to eat my food as fast as I could.
"Well someone is excited for school. I thought you didn't want to go to school."
I turned around in my stool. It was Michael my foster dad.
I smiled sheepishly. "Okay, maybe I am a little bit excited."
"I thought so." He said with a mischievous grin on. "Now, heary up. You’re going to be late for--"
He didn't have to finish his sentence because I was already out the door. When I got into the car, Linda was already there waiting for me. It was a quiet five minuet ride to school and once in a while I would catch Linda wiping a tear away from her cheek. I guess she is proud that I am going into twelfth grade.
When we arrived I said good bye to Linda, gave her a hug, and ran into the building. When I got inside I was amazed by how big it is inside. There is a big balcony with a long ramp right on the side of the balcony leading onto it, which leads to; I'm guessing the twelfth grade hall?
Before I could look around a bit more, someone ran into me.
"Whoa, I am so sorry. I totally didn't see you there." He said as he pulled me up. As he helped me up I started taking a look at him. He had dark brown hair, like mine, which was styled in a quiff. He was wearing some basketball shorts and a simple black T- shirt. He was also wearing a weird red and black braided necklace. He had high cheek bones and big, hazel orbs.
After a while, I realized that I staring at him for two minutes. He cleared his throat. Then he spoke and thrusted his hand outwards.
"My name is Shane." He looked very outgoing and confident when he said this.
"Isabelle." I said shyly as shaking his hand.
"Are you new around here?" He asked as he pulled back his hand and smiled. "'Cause I never seen you here, before."
I smiled. "Well, I lived here ever since I was eleven and I started being home schooled when I was twelve. So yes and no. I am new to this school, but not new to this community."
"Oh, cool... um... you could have just said that in the beginning." He said as his smile went strait.
I look down at my shoes blushing. He starts laughing. "I see you’re a little nervous." He said as he smirked.
"A little?"
"True." He said still smirking, as he goes to the office with me to get my schedule.
