Tuesday Morning
I woke up the next morning after a really long night full of tossing and turning. I couldn't stop thinking about Ayden. I pulled my pillow out from underneath my head and hit myself with it. "Brooklyn, you have to go see him. You were in love with him at one point." I told myself, trying to convince myself that it was a good idea.
I called into work asking for the morning off, and grabbed some tea and a bagel. "What am I doing? This is crazy! I'm crazy..." I said, talking to myself, yet again. I took a deep breath and went to change into something other than the cat pajamas I had on.
I grabbed my keys and a coat, and went to open the door, just as someone was about to knock. I looked out and saw Ayden's mom standing outside the door, with her hand up ready to knock.
"Hi..." "Hey Brooklyn! I know, you are probably really surprised to see me here." Ayden's mom said, probably noticing the shocked look on my face. "I'm so sorry, come in! Sit down! It's great to see you. Would you like some coffee or tea?" I asked, trying to sound somewhat excited. "I'm okay, I just wanted to come talk to you for a moment. It's been so long Brooklyn!"
"I know, it really has been. Actually, um.. I was just on my way to come see Ayden.." I told her, nervous as to what her reaction would be. "REALLY?" She asked, seemingly excited. She cleared her throat, "That is actually what I wanted to talk to you about. I have to be at work, so I came to see if you would mind hanging out at the hospital for a bit while I'm out? It'll only be until 4ish."
I stared at her for a moment before realizing what she had asked. "Is this a good idea? Do I really want to be with him for that long? I was just gonna stop by..." I thought to myself before smiling. "I would love to do that for you." "BROOKLYN this means SO much to me. I know he will be excited to see you again after all this time."
I walked her to the door, and told her I'd be right over. As soon as I shut the door, I ran to the couch a threw a little fit. "WHY ME?? WHY? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? UGHHHH!" I threw a pillow across the room, which knocked a picture frame off of a bookshelf. I walked over and picked it up, carefully moving the broken glass out of the way, I noticed it was a picture of Ayden and I.

Ayden and I had just come back from dinner at a restaurant down the street from our houses. I was ready to head back into my house when Ayden grabbed my hand. "Don't go yet. Please?" I couldn't resist his big brown eyes. "Okay, but I can only hang out for a little bit longer." I told him. He quickly smiled and pulled me towards his backyard.
We got to our secret place, where our cardboard fort had pretty much been destroyed. "Close your eyes Brooklyn!" Ayden told me, while putting my hands over my eyes. "Okay!" I said, excitedly. "Ayden this better not be a prank! Ayden? What's going on? Ayden!" I asked, while hearing things moving around. Ayden grabbed my shoulders and led me to a different spot.
"1...2...3....Open your eyes!" Ayden said, stepping back, posing in front of a new fort that looked just like our old one. "AYDEN! This is so cool! Why did you do this? It looks just like our old one!" I screamed with excitement, exploring the fort he had built for me. "I wanted to do something special for you." He told me, while smiling at the ground.
"AYDEN I COULD KISS YOU!" I yelled before thinking about what I was saying. I quickly looked down at the ground, my face turning as red as a firetruck. "I'm so sorry..." I said, continuing to stare at the ground.
I could see Ayden smiling out of the corner of my eye, and just as I went to look up at him, he rushed towards me, put his hands on my face, and gave me a sweet, soft kiss. Our first kiss.

I slowly opened my eyes, fearing that the light would hurt my head. I hit the buzzer, and asked the nurse for my mom. "Heeeeey Buddy! Your mom isn't here right now, so I'm filling in until she gets back!" Chase told me, jumping onto the hospital bed.
"Dude..." I groaned and turned to the side. "Sorry man, I forgot you are hurt." "Chase, I had a dream about our first kiss..." I said, slightly shifting my head to face Chase. "Duuude, that's great and all, but I don't really like you like that." Chase stood up and moved to the chair.
"Chase, I don't mean you. I meant Brooklyn. I was dreaming about the first time I kissed Brooklyn." "Whoaaa. You got it baaaad man. You still love her." "I know that Chase. I know that I'm in love with Brooklyn and she barely knows I exist anymore, and that I'm an idiot, and that my ear almost fell off. I know"
"Whoa, your ear almost fell off!? That's pretty crazy." A girl's voice said. I looked at Chase, who shrugged, and slowly turned to see who was there. "Brooklyn?" I was shocked. "Why are you here?" I asked her, realizing I may sound a little rude.
"I'm here to relive Chase of his babysitting duty." Brooklyn said, smirking. Chase laughed and responded, "He needs a bottle every 30 minutes, and he is potty training so he may need some help getting to the bathroom." Chase punched my arm gently and laughed. "You two are hilarious." I said, sarcastically. "Bye dude!" Chase said, raising his eyebrows before walking out.
"I'm surprised to see you here." I told Brooklyn. "Ohh, yeah... Your mom asked me to hang out here for a bit while she works.." Brooklyn said, while wandering around the hospital room and messing with the flowers my co-workers brought me. "Ah, well I'm glad you are here..." I said, while staring at the ceiling.
