Sophie's POV:
"cars this way." Derek spoke, pulling me through the rushing crowd of people that were leaving the game.
I tried my best to keep up with him, but it was really hard seeing that every teenager and their mother was rushing to the parking lot to find their cars before the storm hit. It was supposed to rain, actually it was supposed to thunder storm.
"hey." A small figured stepped in front of me.
I looked up and met the eyes of Emma.
"hey." I said squeamishly, finding the situation very uncomfortable.
"I was wondering, would you like to come to my party tomorrow night at 9? everybody will be there. Me and Liam are hosting it in honor of the lacrosse team." a quirky, deceitful smile spread across her lips.
"uh, I don't know I have a lot of school work, I gotta go." I pushed past her.
"oh c'mon, you can't be that lame." She laughed. "I mean Liam lies a lot, but I think you seem pretty cool."
"wait what?" I said, turning back around to face her.
"yeah Liam tells me all the time about how you do nothing, and how he really didn't want you in his 'pack' or whatever to begin with."
Then, I saw it. The purple flash of the eyes. That same crooked smile remained on her face as I looked at her in confusion. what had I just witnessed?
"okay well, I'm not pressuring you or anything. Hope to see you there!" She waved, disappearing into the swarm of people.
I was left standing there in shock as my mind processed and gathered my thoughts on the situation.
"Sophie?" mason, Liam's best friend approached me.
"y-yeah." I stuttered, looking at him.
"is everything okay?" he asked with a concerned filled tone.
"yeah uhh, would you be able to help me find Derek?" I asked, knowing I had to tell him about her eyes.
"you mean him?" he questioned.
I turned to see Derek's dark figure waiting by a trash can, watching me.
"oh, yes him. thanks, gotta go!" I quickly murmured, making my way to him.
I waited till I got to the loft to say anything about the girl. I was scared for Liam, maybe that what was so irregular about the twos friendship.
_
"Derek, may I talk to you about something?" I questioned hesitantly as he walked into the lofts entrance.
"sure. go right ahead." he smiled. that was unusual for Derek, smiling.
"what does it mean in supernatural terms if your eyes flash a dark shade of purple?"
"I didn't know there was such thing..." he asked in confusion. "why have you seen something like this happen?"
"no, not at all...well I mean... yeah I did." I finally finished, relieved that I had told him.
