Tournament of the Unknown

Introduction

Ever since I could remember there has always been violence in this world. Why must it continue?

“Cantalia, stay close to me,” Talia pulls me toward her as we enter through the newly painted fence. I saw the name Jusano Maze in a big billboard sign hanging near the fence.

“Why are we here?” I ask confused. I had awoken beside my sister on a train full of kids. I had no clue what was going on.

“This is our new home,” Talia answers with a hint of sadness in her voice.

“Home for me is with Mom and Dad,” I said truthfully. “Let’s go home.”

“We can’t,” Talia says as we walk farther in.

“Why can’t we?” I ask stubbornly.

“Because if we leave we will be breaking the law,” Talia answers nicely.

“A law? They made a law not letting us go home,” I ask worriedly.

“No, but they recently made a law stating once a child is born they’re to be shipped here to train and to learn,” Talia answers.

“What are we training ourselves for, and what kind of training is it?” I ask intrigued.

“I don’t know what we’re training ourselves for, but I do know that they’re training us how to fight,” Talia answers with a sigh.

As we walk closer to the building I started to notice more and more kids. I saw them either talking, arguing, or fighting with each other. I move one step closer to my sister. I was scared someone was going to start attacking us randomly.

“Welcome to Jusano Maze! Please step in to register,” a man says as he comes out of the building. He has brown hair, brown squared glasses, and a white lab coat that hid his clothes.

My sister leads us toward the man.  As we walk closer other kids start to surround us. I saw a dark haired boy looking at us from the window. He quickly closes the curtain as if he knew I had spotted him. What was he doing up there? I follow the crowd as we made our way into the building slowly. My fear grew the more I went up, and closer to what I knew was nothing pretty.
